Well, at least they've admitted to the "mistake". Somebody bought it though. Wonder if the buyer was informed of this mistake...
Mr. Petitt,
I want to sincerely apologize. You are correct, this car was driven by a Jaguar Executive. At the same point and time I had ordered virtually the same car for my customer, except only one less option. We received both of these cars back at the dealership in October of 2017. I should have completed my due diligence before my reply. My customers car did not have the Jaguar Suede Cloth upgrade. Again, no misrepresentation here, just a simple human error on my part. This car has been sold in nearly record time, and while I highly doubt I will get another, I will advise if we do.
Thanks
Steve

2016 Production Year
I’ve been reading with interest as wondered how many SVR there were globally. I currently own a July 16 UK SVR. I was wondering why no 2016 production year cars were included in your numbers. I know approx 95 were registered in the UK during 2016 with a split of MY16 and MY17.
Being from Warwickshire with several friends working across the JLR sites I could possibly ask for total numbers built but wouldn’t get VINs obviously.

The total number for the global 2017-2020 F-Type SVR production run is 1878.
Would be interesting to see if you are able to get your friends at JLR to share how many F-Type SVRs they say were made. Only one member here has been successful in getting any production number data. It was only for the 2018 model year and it took him a long time and various requests to get the information.

The reason why there is no data for 2016 is because the SVR was introduced for the 2017 model year. A 2016 F-Type SVR does not exist. The year they were registered does not actually matter so you can't really go off of that to determine numbers. You could get an estimate but it will most likely be off by a couple hundred. Cars are usually built a year before their model year designation. For example normal production of 2017 SVRs went from early January 2016 until December 2016. Even though they were all built in 2016 the model year was 2017. Having said that, your car is a 2017 F-Type SVR that was sold/registered in 2016. Easy way to confirm is to look at your VIN. 2017 F-Type SVRs ended with HMKxxxxx

So having spoken to my friend at JLR in Gaydon he was saying normal MY change is June which makes sense but often it’s late. As for numbers he is going to have a look at the systems to see. He thinks the engine forecast will be the easiest to get numbers from.

I have no reason to doubt him as his job is project managing new model years and special editions into production. His last project was the RR 50th Anniversary I believe. Admittedly he has been purely Land Rover platforms until his current project on the E-Pace. It’s entirely possible the F-Type is pre June but he stated new MY changeover is usually June. I don’t work there or know enough so don’t profess to know. 🤷♂️

He could be wrong though as e stated usually June and he usually works on LR platforms although currently on a Jaguar new MY. I don’t profess to know myself. 🤷♂️

Correct. The change over usually occurs January-February on most years. Pre-production test runs for the upcoming year usually occur sparingly during August- December. They can range from runs of 15-30 cars at a time to as little as 1-3.

1000-1200 based on percentage of listing I recall from back in 2015.
A while ago I also asked JaguarUSA about the production numbers for the 2015 F-Type R and of course they refused to provide the info.I used to track them on and off so I have a list of about 100 but nowhere near complete. I will get to it eventually, just got too much career related stuff going on right now. Stay tuned though.
