Default F TYPE V6S oil type

Hello everyone I own a 2016 F type V6S. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of oil this car takes. From my understanding it is 0w-20 anyone know which exact one to use? Or if any other oil types are allowed?

I use Liquid Moly Special Tec LR 0W-20 which is specifically made for Jaguar/LR vehicles and meets the Jaguar/LR STJLR.51.5122 specification. It's MUCH cheaper than the Castrol Edge Professional EC available at dealerships. A five liter jug costs around $55. You'll need between 6.5 to 7.25 liters depending on whether your car is AWD or not. AWD vehicles take less oil than rear wheel drive models since the oil pan shape is different.

I use the factory spec Castrol Edge, order it from rofroparts.com (Atlantic British). It is a little more, but this is the nicest car I've owned, over 100k when new, so I will spend an extra few bucks on the OEM oil

The JLR spec Jaguar/LR STJLR.51.5122 is the important thing to look for. IMO you can use either 5W-20 (as for older cars with the same engine) or 0W-20.
A more common spec to look for is the Ford M2C945A or (M2C947A for 0W-20).

We have used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum over our 5 years of ownership.

The Castrol or Pennzoil oils have the extreme additives to guard against timing chain wear.

The JLR spec Jaguar/LR STJLR.51.5122 was superseded by Spec. STJLR.03.5006 back around 2017. The Castrol Edge Professional EC5 was specially formulated for JLR to meet that latest spec and was available only through JLR dealerships. However, it appears that the EC5 formula is no longer available. Castrol did not respond to my inquiry and the last time I asked for a quart of oil from my dealer's parts department they gave me a bottle of Castrol Edge Professional 0W-20 that is labeled as meeting VW/Porsche's specification.

The Liquid Moly Special Tec LR 0W-20 should work just fine in a 2016 V6 that I assume is well out of warranty.
