F type weekend
Well at my forum meet o Sunday June 5th there were many prizes / raffles to be won, one of which was an F type for the weekend, see here....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...e-05th-157318/
Guess who won it???
Needless to say I am utterly stoked, can't wait!!
It cost me £40 in raffle tickets and was drawn by the Pentland Jaguar representative, couldn't believe my luck, one of only 3 that I entered.
I have it booked for next Friday 17th June, I imagine it'll be the 3.0V6 version and not the all singing all dancing beastie, but hasn't dampened my enthusiasm one bit.
In all honesty I was seriously considering doing an in depth review on the car, but there are so many already. On top of that I genuinely have so much going on in my personal life, I've decided to just enjoy my short time with the car.
I'm sure the hardest part will be handing her back on Sunday........

I had considered a write up, but there's so many and probably done way better than I could do.
I really just want to enjoy the car as much as possible, probably take a million pics and add perhaps a few comments about my thoughts, but keeping it short, sweet n simple.
Yes, that's the major problem, I just know I won't want to hand it back. Unfortunately I don't see one in my future unless I win the lottery, clearly I don't have anywhere near the disposable income of you guys...
Trust me , something similar had crossed my mind. As it's Fathers day around that time, I was thinking about heading south to Stoke on Trent, my father's ashes are there ( he died many years ago )
I do try to go down at least once every year, I also have a brother and 2 sisters who still live there too so maybe.....

I'm fairly certain a number of us don't have much more disposable income than you...we just choose to throw our money away, anyway. Carpe Diem.

Thanks again to all, I'll be able to taste a little of what you lucky guys enjoy every day.
Polarisnavyxj - You know I guess you may be right, it has crossed my mind several times, but....
There were hundreds of tickets in an enclosed box, The Pentland rep had nothing to gain and I bought around 17% of the tickets spending £40
I did spend literally hundreds of man hours organising the event, sent hundreds of pm's / emails / texts and made dozens of phone calls, covered hundreds of miles back n forth between sponsors to organise this.
I managed to give away approx £3500 worth of cash and prizes on the day so everybody had a free event.
Probably most importantly of all, I know that isn't something I could or would do, If anyone chooses to think that, well that's on them and I won't lose a moments sleep on it.
Having said all that, you're still right that there will be some questions / doubts
I actually wanted to ask my wife to make the last, most important draw a she has put up with so much for me to make this happen for everyone, and actually said so. As I had bought tickets and she held them, that unfortunately wasn't an option
Point of note - The sponsor didn't win the prize, their rep made the draw, it was the organiser who won it
Thanks
Jim

Just saw this, Jim--fantastic! You do deserve it more than anyone I can think of. You've built and maintain a very nice community here. It is most certainly the most enjoyable car forum I've ever had the privilege to participate in.
I'm a 12-year veteran on the Corvette Forum and just started participating again after my recent acquisition. The bickering and sniping is a way of life there and is a blood sport. However, just like here, every now and then you learn something really useful.

Thanks Foosh, really appreciate the kind words
I don't think I deserve it more than anyone else, but having paid my money I reckon I have at least as much right as anyone else to win or lose. The Jaguar gods were smiling and trust me, I'm thankful....lol
The comments on the forum really mean a lot. I've been at this now for around 10 years and we have a fantastic team of moderators and GGG as Supermod who keep the place running, free of spam and as friendly / welcoming as is possible.
To be fair most of the long standing members actually help with reporting of posts and know what is and isn't acceptable, so most issues are shut down before they really start.
Thanks again, now in countdown mode till Friday when I get to enjoy this beautiful ride you all enjoy every day, at least for a few days
