New to the forums, but perhaps you guys can help me out.
I've recently (March) bought a 2019 F Type convertible 340 and use it as my every day car. Love it. I bought it at 200 miles, so effectively a new car.
Really, at only 3,000 miles in, I'm just getting to the "unconscious competence" stage with it, and now starting to stretch its legs somewhat.... Which has sprung up a couple of questions....
1) when I switch the engine off, about 5-10 seconds later there's often a ringing bell sound. A bit like a spinning thing stopping spinning... It lasts about a second and stops.
It could be something to do with the exhaust, or maybe the super charger slowing? Answers / suggestions gratefully received....?
2) I just took it for a short squirt to a friend's house and back. I would say it was a swift drive with strong braking (although let's be clear here, I live in an island with a 40mph speed limit 🤔. The car was warmed up before I went, but when I got home (5 miles in total) the car 'smelt' hot.... Upon investigation, the wheels were hot. Too hot to touch in the centre, less hot, actually only "warm" at the rims. Is this normal?
I also own an XF 2.0 diesel which obviously doesn't lend itself to similar driving styles, but never noticed "hot wheels".
I thought that it's the first time I've really stretched the car (acceleration/braking) and I thought perhaps I'm still bedding it in, but that smell was a bit odd.
Maybe I'll get used to it, maybe the "new brake" smell will go away.
The switch off noise may be the throttle body shutting down. As to the wheel heat, can't say I've noticed my wheels getting hot (not that I've touched them straight after a drive, maybe that's something I'll do next time!), but if you've done some heavy braking it may have transferred some heat. Worth checking that the pads arent binding on the rotors? And Jaguar engine bays do get hot and smell hot - I've had that on my previous 2001 XK8, 2004 XKR and 2010 XKR as well as my current F-Type, so don't worry unduly about the smell.
1.) CANbus and other electronics and modules shutting down...Normal
2.) These are fairly large brakes...and as you likely know they work on friction, so yes they get hot...Also normal. If they ever start glowing...Then you have a problem.

TheRock88 is right. Racers use heavy braking on warm up laps to get heat into their tires. Generates more heat than the swerving back and forth does.
If both sides on either 'axle' are the same temp, you should be OK. Fronts will always be hotter than rears since they do more of the stopping, especially when driven 'spiritedly' (even at 40 MPH).
If you don't like the smell of the brakes, follow this philosophy:
