F type and wheelchair users (power liftgate
Hey guys,
New member here. I've had a lot of love and admiration for the F-type ever since I laid my eyes on it back in 2015. I am in a manual wheelchair and as such, I always thought that a car without a backseat to put my chair in wasn't feasible since while I could always place the chair in the passenger seat, that would mean that my girl or my friends could never sit in the car with me when I drive. I've had a 2013 BMW 335is coupe and I currently own a 2019 Mercedes C43 AMG coupe. Recently, I came across a photo of a Jaguar F-type with a wheelchair folded up in the trunk. And this is some generic hospital wheelchair while I have an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber char that's considerably smaller. I had no idea just how usable the trunk in the F-type actually was.
My question to you guys is - Does the power liftgate also close from the keyfob or the button inside the cabin or only by pressing the button on the liftgate itself? I ask because my C43 liftgate can be closed by any of those 3 methods. Also, is the F-type liftgate height adjustable? I certainly couldn't reach the top of it from the wheelchair sitting position since it's quite high due to it being a hatchback design. In my C43, I was able to adjust the height of it opening to that of my choosing and the car remembers it every time I open the trunk.
I am giving my C43 another 2 years so I'd be looking at at 21/22 model with a V8, P450 probably). I like the fact that the warranty was extended to 5 year / 60,000 miles on those models though I do hope that the F-type will get an adaptive cruise, HUD, wireless Apple Car Play and a 360 camera. I'll be heading to a dealership to see just how well my chair can fit into the trunk but that photo looks very promising and got me very excited at the possibility of owning this magnificent driving machine.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Cheers!

Yep, five different ways to close the power hatch:
1. The open button on the under edge of the hatch lid
2. The dedicated close button on the underside of the hatch
3. The switch/button on the facia (above the fog light switch)
4. The button on the fob
5. Manual - pull down by hand.
The easiest way for you ViperX100 will be the button on the fob.
Of course this will work only with the powered hatch, not all F-Type coupes have a powered hatch but AFACT most do so before you buy one make sure it has this option.

Thanks so much for everyone's valuable replies! I am very happy to hear that I'll be able to set the liftgate height and close it from the fob as well as the facia. All that's left is to test out the wheelchair fitment in the back! I am definitely excited and will be reporting my progress.

Does the subscription come included with a new car for a number of years? My Mercedes app has similar features for a few years and can later be purchased for a fee. How much does Jag charge for it yearly?

Yo, this is amazing! Thanks so much for posting the photos with the chair and the measurements. It was a huge help in visualizing the trunk capacity without actually trying it in person. I can't believe that the entire office chair fit! The trunk just may fit my current rigid chair without me switching to a folding one.

In this scenario, I will be riding with either my girl or a friend, so they'd take the chair to the trunk and get it back out. When driving solo, I'll be placing it in the passenger seat.

Sure thing. It's definitely more practical with a car that has a backseat like all of my previous ones, but the F-type always pulled at my heart strings. I've read every article, watched every video about it and now that it's an actual possibility, I am more than excited! I'll keep you guys posted.
