Few of my Jag quirks

1) After 3 jags, I do not trust Jag dealers or parts, I go strictly indie mechanics and aftermarket or non jag parts. Took my F 3 times to jag to fix tire sensor and window regulator, now door panel rattles and MyMusic cuts off after 3 seconds and then starts again after another 2 seconds. I can now hear wind coming in and could not before the fix, SW and tech say that is normal. Charged me $400 for part+ 3 hours labor to fix the TPMS sensor in right wheel, found EXACT same sensor for $65.
First SW said TPMS sensor was aftermarket and then showed me one with jag part number and was broken, when I said litterly in front of other customers to stop BSing me, he looked baffled. Called SW about panel and infotainment issues and I have heard crickets from SW and dealer. BTW, I called 4 times. Stay away from Jag of south Orlando
So, no more dealers or their parts, if I can help it. Laughing now, as I know I will have to go to dealer for something and get their parts along with a good screwing.
I just had to vent this!!

+1 on dealer parts. I recently has some suspension work done by my indie. I sourced most of the parts, but while the car was up on his lift, I noticed the sway bar link bushings were shot. I had him source the parts. $128 each from Jaguar. I later looked at Rock Auto- $28 each. No more dealer parts for me, if I can help it!

OEM parts are definitely more expensive at dealers - and that holds for parts for Audis, Mercedes, Maserati, Buicks..(insert a marque, any marque). And it is very true that OEM parts can often come from non-dealer sources more cheaply.
But buying non-OEM parts really depends on whether you trust the non-OEM parts to be of equivalent quality…and unfortunately often they are not.
For a Honda, non-OEM parts, sure…but for a Jaguar? For my Jaguar, not unless they are proven to be identical.

Some dealers who have been mentioned here in the past offer discounts on their parts, too.
You can often get $$ off by mentioning other prices you have found, or confirming that your are a member of a Jaguar club.
