Default fill /drain supercharger port ftype v6s

Problem a stupid question i hear myself saying , as no one on hear apart from kim in OZZ might know , and be in same place as the AJ133 ENGINE no dowpt although this is the AJ126 if im right if not shoot the breeze , guy 2 down from us nice couple quiet etc has bought a ftype v6s in BRG a convertiable job , him and his lady wife , joe and sally bought this as a summer sports car for drives into the country and the like , cant blame them lovely looking car packs a punch . here's the crack . Doc Steve my friend was taking to them , anything jaguar ask George etc. before i know it i am the get to guy , car has relatively medium milage 50 odd k but is 7 year old , told him of the usual jaguar problems , weak batteries , and will need diff oil and gearbox oil change , also at that age the supercharged oil will need replaced . before i know it i stupidly volunteered to do the supercharged oil change , as looking at the engine bay on the v6s it has bags of room, unlike the 5l xkr any way , so they have left to go on holiday for 2 weeks in the UK and i am left with the keys of the car and the garage . watch this space

Good luck,

It’s tedious but very doable. Theres an excellent write up by a forum member. (Someone please tag his handle) https://classicairheads.com/blog/202...r-replacement/

while you’re there you might as well change all the pipes and hoses suggested

You are welcome. And technically you do not HAVE to destroy the Symposer, but I just thought it was dumb, so saw it as a plus It does make it easier to get to, but on the V6, you likely have plenty of room.

Best of luck to you...

Not been on here for a while , but reviewing some photos I had taken of doing this job on the v6s . I noticed the photos of the fill/ drain port for the supercharge oil are different from the rocks post and photos . On this car a 2014 v6 s it's clearly at the top , and can be seen very clearly without removing the harness etc , will post up photos I took later on .

Did you really only suck out 55ml of old oil or was it 155? What happened to the rest of the oil? Is it possible the SC is now overfilled?

BTW what is the spec for the amount of oil the V6 requires?

Yes. only 55ml came out . Rest must have evaporated due to heat . over the years . at least on the V6 models it is very easy to change out . only thing is , on the kit supplied from powerhouse uk , it comes with a large syringe and 3mm tube it wont go down to bottom of the tank /container /unit as its to thick , you have to get a thin drink straw or take a straw from a can of WD40 stick it up the 3mm tube stick a bit of tape between them just in case of any mishaps seems to be gearing in the way , so move the straw to the right hand side . it goes fully down then draw up with syringe . i put in 150ml as recomended . and shining a touch down the hole could not even see the new oil . just mind and not over fill as recommended . but it just shows you how much evaporates over the years

its that easy on the v6 to do . unless they changed the fill /drain port in later years . you could do it in an hour every year . simple even for the average DIY guy

Yep...You get to keep your money. Mine is an AWD R 5.0 Liter. V6 does look a bit easier to get to...That is great!

Before gaining access...Note...My Symposer is removed. Even more difficult when it is in there!
