Finally got the F-Type
Ok so, i am feeling blessed and privileged to be a new f-type owner and officially being a part of this club
some of you may have noticed i asked for some help with the R lease a few days ago, well that deal fell through and the dealer had the exact 2016 F-Type S in the color combination i wanted so i went for that instead. Also, after i test drove the V8, i felt a little intimidated and the brute power of that car had been making me a little uncomfortable and was on my mind. i didn't plan on taking it to the track, and using a V8 only for stop and go speeding seemed kinda redundant to me. In the end getting the V6S was a now or never kinda deal. Im still in the process of making the cabin my home, that is, finding the right seat settings, dynamics, etc, but my god its such a nice place to be in. The V6 although not as punchy as the V8 is quick enough for traffic-filed freeways and to take off off the line. and the sound..oh, the sound. head-turner indeed.
i did a photoshoot of the car, but pics haven't synced to my laptop yet. so pics to follow. thank you guys for all your valuable input and posts. really helped me in making this decision.
let me know what your thoughts are regarding the V6S vs the R?

"Welcome to the camp (you all know why we're here)!"
Looking forward to seeing the pics. No complaints about the V6-S vs an R here.
I'm in the Jeremy Clarkson camp - "At no point when I've been driving this [V6-S], have I thought 'Yeah, but, I wish it was a bit more exciting.'" I have more raw HP in my modified VR4, but it's just not as fun.

Congratulations!!! You made a great choice, but any F-Type variant is a great choice.
Your request for comments on the comparison usually ends up generating a pointless and silly discussion here. In reality, you can't practically and legally use the power of either of these engines on the street without getting into trouble, except perhaps on very rare occasions.

I recently drove a 2016 R awd convertible and it was fantastic. No question the R is great, but I can honestly say that getting back into my V6S has not been a disappointment in any way. It still provides me with thrills every time I drive it even after a solid year of ownership. Both the 6 and 8 cylinder engines are equally impressive in their own ways.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!

absolutely. I tried a tip from the reply earlier to paddle shift in sport mode for more power and it did give me that extra neck jerk factor!
but am really glad to see the respect and appreciation that is out there for a V6. This car epitomizes the fact that HP is only one aspect that makes up an amazing automobile.

Congratulations, nice looking car. I love my V6 S and it is wild enough for me, I would never use anything like the capacity of the 8.
Jeremy Clarkson called the V6S "an X-rated hard core monster for the terminally unhinged". That's good enough for me.

haha yeah they really went above and beyond throughout the process. I used all my negotiation tactics and skills for the R but when that deal fell through, I was so exhausted I was like, whatever, and just got the S. so not really the best deal. but still the best car )
