Finally got my new wheels on, am I pushing my luck with offsets?
on my v6 base vert, I think I went out as far as you can go.. the rationale was, I can always machine a few mm from the backfaces if need be, didn't wanna need to bother with spacers. no problems/noises so far, so I guess there's no rubbing. but maybe there's someone who knows something I don't and sees something which may be a problem later?

VSForged VS20's, grey, as this is the only correct color on a car =D gotta do something with the wheel weights soon, I just wanted everything done so didn't care much at the time.
Looks great. Fits the wheel well nicely. I thought it was lowered at first. What size wheels did you have originally? Notice any ride difference?
base model, so 18" wheels, 275 in rear and i think 245 in front, so this way its at least enough of an increase to be worth it. a little more rubber touching the road is always a good thing.
i bought the ebay tpms that someone else here reported worked well but they died in a week. but hell, i'd spend the 40 bucks just to satisfy my curiosity so no big deal.
That's almost the perfect offset. You've extended the face both front and rear by 17mm. That's the max you can safely go without rubbing the fender under any cornering condition. General warning to anyone thinking of facing the inside of your wheels: If you have the big brake package, you run the risk of the front calipers interfering with the wheel spokes.
figured i'd mention, these are the tpms i bought, mentioned by someone else on this forum as having worked. they worked right away for me, no electronic fiddling needed but they died in a week.
the choices seem to be oem or oem.. if someone knows anything about the ones sold by places such as direct-tire, i'm all ears. sounds like the wheels themselves are fine, so says unhingd who seems to be the wheel guru here
these rims and tires are for sale. tires have less than 1k miles on them and wheels are coated with gtechniq crystal serum light.
i'll make a proper thread in a bit, gotta shuffle some stuff around. selling the car is the reason why, i lose too much money on things if i sell the car with the wheels, generally speaking. not entirely sure yet....
absolutely no problems with rubbing or anything else, very satisfied with them its just time for me to go back to the world of corvettes
Wonder why they didn't buy the tires with it? Too bad you aren't local. I'd take them to replace my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S which are the standard R size and are getting worn after my trip to Tail of the Dragon where we got the tires nice and warm around all of those curves.
