I was wondering about that myself, as I am contemplating a further 70 or 80 pound weight reduction with carbon fiber wheels. Is the setting on those shocks selecting an alternate hydraulic circuit or is it modulating a flow valve. If the latter, a rheostat might be used to control the shock. If not, filling the shock with a different viscosity oil might accomplish what is needed. On my racing Bugeyes, I would fill the cantilever shocks with STP oil treatment to stiffen the suspension.
Ironically when I was young, I had RC cars and I would mix oil and STP to achieve the desired dampening. I have not investigated how the Damptronis work, some use magnetic particles in the oil and they excite it with electricity to vary the viscosity, some adjust the oil bypass passages. I will look further into this.
Though limited in detail, this description would imply that the system is indeed analog rather than digital, controlled most likely by one of the many computer modules, perhaps subject to tuning. Here’s where we need Cambo to chime in. OR maybe, the logic will automatically adjust to the new suspension parameters.

Overall I saved 41.18 lbs on the daily, not bad.
