Not sure that's true these days, colour matching is pretty good if you find a decent shop. I had a new front splitter painted for my Kyanite Blue 2010 XKR and it was a perfect match (gorgeous colour, too - I miss it).

I considered the Firenze Red with the standard chrome trim when I ordered my 2021 R. It looked beautiful in the photos I saw. But I too was a bit worried about "unwanted" attention. Like from the cops.
I generally like dark colors and that Sapphire Blue is beautiful. I did see a recent YouTube video of a new F Type done in some new extra cost option color. It was silver and almost a matte finish. I have to say that I didn't think I would ever like a matte color on a car but on the F Type it made the car look like a modern jet fighter or something and was quite attractive.

My recollection was that in 2015, when I put in my order for my 2016, Firesand was the same premium price as Storm Grey (what I ordered), which was $1500.

I like Firesand on the F-Type but I was buying a daily driver and for every day, it's just a little too much for me.

Having a Stratus Gray F-Type has never prevented me from being “noticed” or getting pulled over.

P.S. I’ve never really seen any F-Type—in any color or configuration (i.e. 6 or 8 or even 4)—which I didn’t think stunning. Whether I might own that color, or configuration, is another matter.

Correct, and the Xirallic formulation of BRG (beautiful!) was a $1600 option in Canada for 2015.

why majority of BMWs are plain white or black - because those only two 'free' colors.
why majority of tesla's are white - because its only 'free' color
same for MB, porsche....

I really like my white 16 Type R, but I’d love to find a reasonably priced Type R.
My first test drive was in a Firesand V8 convertible. Wanted a Coupe, and with Firesand but very few on the ground...not only is it truly stunning, also believe they'll be coveted over the long run. I go back to the "intro" colors BMW had for their M3's that didn't audition to great reviews that are now highly sought after.

Here are pics of my 2015 Firesand F-Type R. This was taken at the Jaguar Owners Club Concours d 'Elegance in San Diego where it won 1st place in the driven class.

355Rockit. Your car is very nicely detailed. Congrats on the first place.

Well if we're posting photos of our Firesand cars, here is one of my favorites of my car, it's a 2014 V8S. This was a professional fall sunrise photo taken by Ron Kimball which can be found here https://www.kimballstock.com/results...uar%20F%20Type along with some studio shot of my car, all of the shots of the Firesand car with the carbon blade wheels are of my car. The Firesand is very photogenic and I love mine and I've had it since 2013 when they first came out.

Does anyone know in what year Eiger Grey replaced Corris Grey?
When I was at the dealership today I saw lots of E-Pace but the Eiger Grey one looked the best, better than Corris or silver.

I've never seen a car that so changes its look as the F-Type with paint color. That said, there are so few around here (or I've simply been blind) that it was hard to find examples of many colors, especially since we lined out white and black right away. I was also informed that I didn't want orange, who knew...

The last car we saw, and the one we ended up buying, was Lunar Gray (or is it Grey). My mid-engine Mini was Porsche Silver because, like the 911, it showed off the curves really nicely. I think Lunar Grey does as well, though depending upon the lighting, it sometimes looks silver - I still catch myself staring at it. Anyway, color is so much an entirely subjective topic that I always get bugged when people ask what color of something they should get, but that's a rant for another thread

I looked for a year for a firesand Vert with the options and price I wanted. Never found one so I settled on a white one.

Firesand is a very striking color.
The reason it is rare is that the majority of customers do not want it.
The majority of F-Types on dealer lots are variants of gray, white and black because those are the in-demand colors.
IMO Firesand is a Toyota color, admittedly expensive, but a bit jarring on the eye after you've seen it a few times.

My Polaris white Vert checked every other box I was looking for V8, every available option, plus was debadged, rebadged with a single black leaper on the rear , so it looked unique, mysterious

Hmmm....seeing this has renewed my intrigue in getting a Firesand. It's such a stunning rare color. When I got my 2017 R in Dark Sapphire, there was not a single R in Firesand for sale anywhere in the states that I found. There is 1 on Carfax now. Thanks for sharing

The color looks better than that in the flesh. When I saw it on the online configurator I though "no way" but when I saw one in person (a coupe) I changed my mind. It's a little too much for me for daily driving, but if I could keep two F-Types ...

I decided not to sell it - unless of course someone gives me an offer I cannot refuse
