Sorry to hear about your issues. At least you got a nice loaner. Remember to drive it like its not yours!

After the first attempt at repairing the squeak/rattle, the noise has become intermittent. I wonder how many attempts we have to try before JLR will recommend replacing the headliner?

Based on my own experience, ensure you have the dealership log each attempt directly with JLR's tech team. One of the stupid excuses JLR kept throwing back at me despite giving the dealerships my car for 4+ weeks over 4 occasions to fix the Meridian Audio problem, it only got logged once and so JLR deemed that I had only given them one chance.

I tried to understand why the lack of their dealerships following the proper process was my problem and they said "Well, because it is..."

mawheele,
Thanks, I didn't know that. I have sent an email to the Service Adviser and I'll ask if he logged this with JLR, if there is a log number and I'm anxiously awaiting their service survey. I'd rather not take it back unless they're sure it can be fixed because as we all know it sucks to be without your F Type for extended periods of time.

Still no headliner, if JLR can't resolve a small trim issue I wouldn't want to know what happens when something serious goes wrong. I will need to discuss this with the dealership management.

Yes what you are describing with the headliner is just poor workmanship at the factory. Adhesive may be the appropriate solution but not for just one of the workshop techs, it need to be done by a specialist auto trimmer.
