I ran my F-Type R at Texas World Speedway last weekend. Started off with 31F/32R's
and pressures came up to low 40's, bleed down to 36/36 hot and that worked the best for our track conditions. Fun GT car for track, tranny worked great in manual mode, and the brakes never showed any fade after 25 min sessions

What was your top speed before hauling it down for turn one?

Just finished my second track day with the F-type last Sunday. I ran 4 separate 30 min sessions spread throughout the day. I have the carbon ceramics and I did not detect a bit of fade. Sebring is a 3.7 mile long track and I was topping out at 143-147 mph before having to brake for turn 17. I would have went out for more runs but my driver rear tire went flat. I was able to patch the hole and make it home 100 miles away but that ended my track day.

So I split the difference at Streets of Willow Springs on Saturday. Went with 29/31 and got balanced hot temps of 38/38. Pleased to report that the Pilot SuperSports are in great shape. You may recall my earlier post showing the entire row of tread blocks ripped out of the OEM P-Zeros from prior track day.

While I don't have an F-type, I took my XKR to Buttonwillow Raceway 2 Fridays ago, and noticed in the later runs that I had some sliding through the turns and lots of tire screeching. I started the day at about 30psi in the fronts and 31psi in the rears. When I checked at the end of the day my fronts were at 41 and rears at 42 respectively, this on a relatively cool (70F) day. No wonder the decreased grip. Friends of mine said they start the day at 26psi at most.
Next time, I'll do the same. Will be at Willow Springs in March.
