Default Floor mats

I like to protect the factory mats and carpet, so I typically toss in some aftermarket floor mats. I figured I would give these a try because they're dirt cheap and if they sucked, no biggie.

Well, I was surprised how nice they are and how perfectly they fit. These are about the same price as a set of lame ones from the auto parts store but they cover the entire floor, look fantastic, and have little pockets for phones and such.

Anyway, thought I would share if anyone is looking for some use and abuse floor mats. I'll post pics of them in my car later today.

Looking forward to photos and your review. I paid an extra $100 for the Sienna Tan Nubuck Edged carpet mats when I ordered my 2021 model and the one on the drivers side is already showing wear from where my heel contacts the carpeting. And this is only after 8000 miles and I typically wear only shoes with rubber heels like tennis shoes or Sperry Topsiders.

What material are they made from and where did you order them from ?

They would be better if they matched Jaguar's diamond pattern, which has a more elongated diamond. They would clash with the diamond pattern in my doors/seats.

For the price, they're awesome! theyre made from a cushioned vinyl it seems. The driver side has a built in heel pad. Again, they're affordable enough to toss out once they or if they wear.

I ordered them directly from their site.

They actually look good. Again, main purpose is to not care about them too much and protect the factory interior.

They cover the entire floor and up the sides of the tunnel and door buckets.

I was looking at similar but they seemed too puffy for my tastes. Bought WeatherTech's instead.

They aren't puffy. I like the yellow stitching to match my yellow car. Lol

Just another option out there for folks. Why I shared it.

Thanks Cgo, they certainly cover everything. I think I prefer carpeting and when it comes time to replace my OEM mats I'm going to look for a set that has a heel insert to prevent the kind of wear that I am seeing now.

I forget the vendor, but there was a thread a couple of years ago here about one that offered high quality floor mats and a hatch mat. Does anyone remember who that was ?

If you are experiencing wear similar to @Dwight Frye (just in the heel area), you could retain your present mats and install a heel pad. These are available in several sizes and colors, in case you want them to blend with or contrast with your interior decor.

We have used the brand below on a few Daily Drivers over the years and they work GREAT.

It is worth noting that you need to use a proper automotive adhesive, like for headliners, (which they also sell). Craft-store adhesives do not stand up to the heat of auto interiors.

I have custom cocomats in my car - very classy and durable option. I am pretty sure I'll never wear them out in my lifetime. I posted on them here -

I wish Jaguar had equiped my F-Type with a higher qualify carpet mat. The mat that came standard was showing wear within a few thousand miles. I believe the ones in my 2004 XJ8 were wool and they wore like iron.

Of course.....this is what I want in my jaguar......

I'd perhaps recommend you look at cocomats.com and the images and videos...the Ferrari 275 is particularly cool looking. I'd take that kitchen table any day.

yeah, maybe if I had a Ferrari i would splurge for floor mats. Mine are only to protect the carpet.

Lots of options out there, but I thought these were cool because they cover the entire bucket, sills, console, etc.

Yeah, those sound proof panels do look a lot like the premium diamond pleat interior in the Jag. Lol

I had coco mats back in '76 in a SL, good looking but shed! Of course I also had lamb skin seat covers.

I bought the same ones and, for the most part, like them. They are dirt cheap (<$50) and I think will need replacing within a year or so, but they look pretty slick. I'm not thrilled with how they meet the door sill. I keep trying to come up with a way to secure it so there isnt a gap.

mine cane with velcro straps, but only 4 so I just bought more at the hardware store. Closed the gap nicely. i just like the fact that they actually have sill covers. Honestly, if they looked as cheap as they are, I wouldn't dare put them in my car, but they actually look really nice. I've already had people ask if they are factory or custom and tell me they must have cost a fortune. Lol 😆

But yes, they look good, perform well and are cheap enough to abuse and not care about.

I tucked the end under the plastic cap and its held for several days now. I think that did the trick.
