Default Forged Wheel Specs

Hi all, I've finalized my choice for my new wheels but now need to figure out offsets.

Current Wheel (Gyrodyne):
Front: 20x9 et 52
Rear: 20x10.5 et 38

For the front wheel i was thinking...
20x9 et 35

This way i keep the same size wheel and tire but push out the wheel 17mm.

For the rear is where i need help.
20x11 et25 is what is recommended fitment, this pushes out the wheel by a total of 19mm due to the slightly wider wheel as well. however keep in mind i am going to lower my car as well and would like to fit 265 and 305 size tires when the current ones wear out.

Would i be fine if i made the rear offset et 29? this would push out the wheel 15mm from current.

you might rub, it depends on your car. remember we have 0 rear camber adjustment, so rear camber might not be the same side to side.

i'm getting some rub on the drivers side with 20x10.5 + 21 and a 295 PSS. my driver rear camber is -2.2 and my passenger is -2.5. i feel like the rub developed a few months after putting the wheels on, so i'm assuming the fender liner is deforming? i had 15mm spacers previously. i doubt the rubbing is being caused by a 2mm difference (1/16 of an inch).

Already addressed in many, many other threads. You won't be able to go 19mm beyond spec. 15mm might work but it will depend on the tire you actually use as different brands have differing sidewall profiles. Search this site for those other threads to understand what will work.

20x9 +35 with a 255 and lowered, fits with zero rubbing. So with a 265 that would make each side of the tire hang 5mm wider. It could fit but a +38 is probably safer.

20x11 +29 with a 305 and lowered should fit just fine. For reference, I am running a 20x10.5 +18 with a 295 and lowered and it barely scraped so I trimmed the inner rear fender (see build thread). SigsJag is running a 20x11.5 +30 with a 295 and lowered and says he doesn't rub at all.

+1.
+15mm works with 295 tires, but not with 305s if you lower the car. The front clearance is more forgiving.

But the reason he may not rub may well be due to him "stretching" the 295's across an EXTREMELY wide 11.5" rim for this car. I was not aware than anyone was successfully running and 11.5" rim but that would normally have a 315 wide tire rather than a 295 so 295 is actually a bit "narrow" for that width so that likely changes the sidewall radius to the point that it may not handle as well but will probably help it 'tuck" into the wheel well.

Thanks everyone!

So this is the specs i ended up going with.

Front:
20x9.5 et 45 (will push out the wheel by 13mm, moves wheel away from strut by 1mm)
20x11 et 29 (will push out wheel by 15mm, moves wheel away from strut by 3mm)

I ended up going with this wheel with a brushed black triple tint spokes and brushed black single tint barrel. Hoping it turns out really well. In this pic below the spokes are a dark tinted bronze and the barrel is the same as what i chose...so just imagine this wheel with a darker brushed gunmetal center. Fronts will be mild concave while the rears super deep concave.

That’s a really nice looking 10 spoke wheel. That’s what I was looking for on my car but I wasn’t willing to pay for a custom forged set lol. Are you going to leave the outer barrel polished? I would be worried about loosing the detail on the spoke with a full black barrel and spokes.

the lip and barrel will be polished with a single shade of black tint applied. just like in that pic. the spokes will have 3 shades of the same tint applied to make them darker and stand out against the lip and barrel.
