Default Front air deflector installation

Hi All, new to the forum. I just took delivery of my 2107 F-type, absolutely beautiful.
I have a question for the group. My dealer failed to install the front air deflector on the car, found it in the trunk. It seems relatively easy to install on the hooks under the font. Rather than drive back to the dealer to install it I'd just assume do it myself. There were no screws in the package. Does this actually screw in or is it supposed to relay on those hooks to hold it in place? If if it does screw in, how many and where? Pictures would be much appreciated!

Hello friend, I also have a 2017 F Type. What is this item, air deflector ?
Can you take a picture of the part and post the pic please. I'm wondering if my car has to too but not sure what your speaking of. Thanks

Do you mean the chin lip that fits under the car to protect the undertray from scraping kerbs, etc (the bottom part in the photo)? Or a cosmetic front splitter (above it - different styles are available)?

If the lip, it is supplied from the factory in the trunk to be installed as part of the PDI so it doesn't get worn when the car is being driven up and down car transporters. I believe it shares some of the mounting screws with the undertray but I am not certain. I can check on my PC tonight if you still need to know then.

Whilst it is easy to fit it yourself, as it is a new car I would take it back to the dealer because if they missed that from the PDI which is a fairly obvious step, there is a good chance they missed other things too.

xdave, yes it's the chin lip at the bottom that I'm referring to. I agree, the dealer should have installed it but they are 50 miles from where I live and if it's a simple thing to install, I prefer to take care of it myself. I'm sure I'll be bringing it back to them soon and have the check everything out but I'd like to get this on if I can. I'd appreciate if you could take a couple of pics from underneath showing how it's attached.

See the attached. It is shown in the last picture with 11 fixings.

Thank you! If I'm reading the diagram correctly it goes affixes under the undertray so I have to remove that to install the lip. Correct?

I'm not sure, but I would suspect not as those instructions are for replacing the undertray not just fitting the lip.

If you have the fixings present already then you will probably find they are screw bolts with captive washers that screw into little nylon blocks clipped to the undertray. If the fixings are there then you can just undo them, offer up the lip and then rebolt them.

If you just have the center whisker of 3 sections to attach, then just remove the 5 screws at the leading edge of the undertray, put the whisker in place, and replace the five screws. The 3 whiskers are designed to be replaced on a regular basis if needed and are just a little over $100 for the set.
