Default Front parking sensors

Have an XF Sportbrake to accommodate my dogs, but I’m in the process of buying a 2015 F Type 3.0 to put a big smile on my face. Like so many on the used car sites in UK, it has rear parking sensors (no camera) but no sensors at the front. With such a long nose that can’t be seen, I’m amazed they aren’t standard?! Does anyone know if they can be retro fitted? Called my local Jag main dealer (Silverlink - Newcastle) who said it’s not something they do, which I found odd as it’s an obvious market to be exploited! Grateful for any advice, many thanks

Can't help with the sensors, but main dealers aren't the people to go to for "non-standard" work - they only deal with stock issues, in my experience. Try and find a decent independent who'll be more amenable, and considerably cheaper, for all your servicing needs!

Honestly, even with the sensors on my car, I usually end up reversing into parking spaces, as I really don't trust them. I believe they only come on automatically after you have selected reverse, so pulling into somewhere after driving may not give you any warning unless you manually press the button.

My advice to you - they aren't worth the effort it would take to retrofit, but if your heart is set on some I'm sure any decent performance auto shop could get it done.

Yeah, with the factory front sensors I THINK you need to turn them on (at a speed less than 6 MPH) and it takes several seconds for the center display to indicate where you are!

Unless you hear a CRUNCH first. THEN you know!

I try to park in open lots without the parking blocks, if I cant do that I back in, or just learn to stop short of curbs. you will get used to the look with repitition. I have pulled in short a few times but its no issue if there are no spaces behind you that someone could back into you.
