Front Splash Guards

Great prices but the shipping cost is as much or more than the item cost, especially as Blighty to Oz is a helluva lot further than Blighty to Murica.
Great service and super fast shipping though!

I got mine from my dealership. They came down on there price significantly once I mentioned britcar 's price. I got both guards, the clips with tax for 95.78. Still a little bit more then britcar but no shipping and best part I had them in two days. Britcar quoted me 3-6 weeks - yuck!!

Got mine done today. Came great. Love them. Glad I decided not to cut deeper notches into the spots where the clips go. They go on nice and snug and if I took material away they wouldn't be as snug. So I recommend not doing the notches like TheRock did. Not sure how is our tight now but maybe his double sided tape was thicker. Anyways what ever works for you is the way to do it.
I ran tape down the whole guard and used all six clips on each side. Good and tight and very happy.
My only complaint is the very bottom clip doesn't snug up as much as all the others, but I don't see it coming off either.

Before obviously
I chose to install them tabs down which puts the thicker portion slightly lower on the fender ( don’t forget to remove the two nubs (which fix between the quarter panel and bumper on the XKR) I trimmed off the two tabs as well.
After !
I did notch the two lowest clip areas to allow the clips to go deeper making full contact with the inner fender lip. I also added one extra clip on top and notched that clip also.
I then trimmed off the excess flare to be even with the bottom of the rocker.
I also added one addition clip at the top edge, I trimmed a notch as well to allow the clip to seat completely on the fender lip

I installed them today. One thing I noticed that nobody else mentioned is that down the end near the tabs there are two plastic bumps that could cause the parts not to lay flat against the fender lip. I trimmed off these bumps. Install went well and looks good.

I haven't been home long enough to install mine yet. Feel free to show us some pictures if you get a chance.

Going to do this tomorrow. Forgot I even had them and then a miracle: I was able to find them in the mountain of parts I call a garage.
1. Are the tabbed insets with the OEM tape definitely supposed to be at the bottom?
2. Do 1 or 2 of the lowest insets need to be notched by an 1/8 of an inch?
3. How critical is it to add the two sided tape to the remainder of the length?
4. What are the specs or product number on the 3M tape that was added?
Thanks for the help!

1. Are the tabbed insets with the OEM tape definitely supposed to be at the bottom? Nope...I put them at the top and it fits great...Others did it differently, so your choice
2. Do 1 or 2 of the lowest insets need to be notched by an 1/8 of an inch? I notched them all and they snap on better, but others have not, so again, your choice.
3. How critical is it to add the two sided tape to the remainder of the length? Not absolutely necessary, but besides the extra bonding, it makes the strip thicker and the clips hold better.
4. What are the specs or product number on the 3M tape that was added? Pretty sure I used 1/2" 3M Super Strength Molding tape (may have been thinner? but can be trimmed).
Good luck!

Mine only came with a couple of strips of tape on them. I removed the factory tape and replaced with 3m weather stripping tape, it’s black not grey but I don’t think it’s any different other than the color.
Like the Rock, I went the entire length and trimmed it down to about a 1/4 inch in width.
I did not notch but did remove the tabs and bumps.
I must have held those things up to the, tabs up, tabs down about 2 dozen time before deciding on tabs down.
Honestly I think they look great either way.
Making sure that the lip was tight against the side of the car was the trickiest part for me, did not want any gap that dirt could work it’s way into.... The first one was acceptable, the second one was perfect. Thought about redoing the first but those clip seem single use to me and with the tape being as strong as it is, decided to live with it.

I used 1/2 inch 3M Auto Advanced tape on the entire length. I did notch the bottom two clips. I installed tabs down as it appears the molding protrudes a little further out from the fender that way on the bottom. It may offer slightly better protection that way. Then again, could be my imagination.
