Default Front Sway bar, wrong size from factory?

I was looking to install poly bushings on the front sway bar of my 2016 R. I measured it and it's 28mm. Isn't the front bar supposed to be 32mm on these from factory?

I was going to buy 31.5mm Powerflex bushings.

I ordered a set as well that are supposed to fit, but they are too large, so I just have them sitting on the shelf in my garage, since I attempted an install. I should have measured first I bet mine are similar to yours.

Mine is a 2017 R.

Interesting. They must have changed at least the front sway bar after MY2015. From what I was able to gather 2015 and earlier were 32mm for R and 27mm for SVR.

At least I know now the correct bar is installed. That is weird they would go with a smaller bar, introducing more body roll.

If you're still interested in installing new bushings I found these that will fit (assuming your bar is 28mm too). https://www.energysuspensionparts.com/9.5163

It's more complicated than just "body roll." They might have been adjusting front/rear balance, or addressing a traction issue (AWD vs. RWD perhaps?). A stiff anti-roll bar can also cause real-world problems when the car encounters out of sync inside and outside wheel bumps. The bar couples (arcane pun intended) the left and right wheels in a way that isn't always advantageous if only one side is getting bumps.

I'm not sure what the reasoning was but to give an example, soft springs and stiff bars is not to my liking.
