FType owners ...you are so lucky
My build has hit a stopping point short of where I wanted.
My '15 XFS 3.0L with a soon to be one-of -a-kind direct port spray kit has come to a stopping point.
I can;t get a LSD on the rear axle without major rework and programming ...which no one I know of will do.
When I dyno, I expect to get 450 WHP with a progressive spray, but in actual track or street, I won;t be able to put that power to the ground because the lack of a LSD or any sort of viable options other than welding the dam things together. F$%$K!!!!!!
Should of got the F type .... ok...done crying ...moving on to the next project...

There is a thread on XK forums reporting that some people were swapping F-type S LSD in. Maybe you can fit it into XF? However, at 450WHP you will probably be past mechanical tolerances.
I also feel your issues. My last SL had open differential. It was major flaw in the handling department. I went with F-type S just to get LSD.

Me too! My previous car was FWD and ~275HP, and the open diff was a major hindrance.

What's the big deal? As you suggest, just weld up the spider gears. Excessive rear tire wear, but overall still a lot cheaper than installing a new diff. I've done that on all my race cars converted from street, and on a couple of street cars with blown spiders. Actually works better than a standard friction style LSD on the track (not as well as a Torsen, though). Just make certain you chip and flush out 100% of the slag.

The V8 Ftype has the same gearing as the V6 right? I shouldn't run into any issues with mechanical tolerances. The 3.0L XF has virtually the same components that the 5.0L XF does and they can handle loads of torque and HP. But again, it comes down to the differences in the rear differential.

I am looking into that, Cambo suggested the same thing. The swap is no problem, but I will have to reprogram because the gearing is different. That's where I run into the roadblock!

The Tranny yes. The diff no.
Final drive ratios:
2.0 3.55
V6 Manual 3.31
V6S Manual 3.31 LSD
V6 auto 3.15
V6S auto 3.15 LSD
Corrected typo: R & SVR auto 2.56 ELSD
What's the final drive ratio on your XF and what tranny do you have?

"The 3.0L S/C in the XF and XJ has a 2.56:1, which is the same ratio as the 5.0L S/C in the other models" -Cambo
---All the newr 2012 and up XF models have ZF 8 spd tranny.....so if examining these gear ratios for the XF and R/SVR F type the gearing is very similar and there should be no issues with reaching the mechanical limits of any drivetrain parts. An XFR should would be a bit quicker off the line. The 5.0L XF is able to put down more torque than the 3.0L ..theoretically, the XFR or XFR-S gearing should switch over, but as Cambo explained, it would take some part swapping (which is no problem) and ...reprogramming (problem) the TCU and ECU to recognize the Ediff module.
