Picked up an E-85 tune from Velocity AP. They assured me my F-Type can run E-85 with a tune, as the car is only lacking the ethanol switching to allow for auto switching of the maps. After a few tanks my car started misfiring and I took it to my local shop. They told me that cylinder 2 injector was stuck open causing excessive fuel dump and that cylinder 4 was leaking. They replaced the injector and and the seals on the rest. I got the car back and about 50 miles down the road it starts to do the exact same thing. I get it towed to my garage and run the codes. I get DTC codes: P0306-00, P00C6-00, P1315-00, P0561-00. The misfires seem to be due to low fuel pressure due to either a leak in the system, or a bad fuel pump.
As the symptoms were the exact same as before, I figured it would be a good idea to start with the injectors and this time replace all 6. I start with cylinder 6, the one that is misfiring and I am surprised to find that it looks brand new.
Then I go to 4
Ignore the tape, it was just there for labeling purposes. 1,2,3, and 5 looked much better than 4 visibly.
Then I pulled the other bank. What i found was that the injector port on cylinder 6 looked very distinct from the rest. Notably it was very dry and did not have any fuel / oil in it.
I am waiting on the parts in the mail at the moment, But was hoping someone could chime in as to what exactly could be happening and why cylinder 6 looks different from all the others, especially considering its the new injector.
I do think it could have something to do with it. I received two tuning files; one with pops and bangs and one without. I believe this started once I put the one without pops and bangs on, and now that I think about it, I've gotten about the same range between occurrences.
Another question. Im worried about cylinder 6 being dry, and I am wondering if there's something I need to do to prep it before I put an injector in there.
