Default Future of tuning, emissions, etc. TheDrive article on Cobb and Subaru

"Cobb Locked Out Key Tuning Features Due to Emissions. Here’s Why Tuners Are Furious It’s been the talk of the car modifying scene, and we reached out to those who are impacted most." https://www.thedrive.com/news/cobb-l...rs-are-furious

Eventually tuning will just mean modding your A.I. program to have a cool or funny voice. Or modding speeds to peel your face off.
But I suspect this is the way forward for everyone. It's not just Cobb... the EPA is going after all this stuff.
I guess we should expect it and act accordingly, but I guess it's also how purists felt when NHTSA ended that "safety be damned" era of design and build?
Feels like a big moment at the death rattle of ICE engines. I cannot stop thinking about the coming EV restomod revolution that'll have to happen to keep some stuff on the road.
