In another article I saw, it appears that the V8 models will come standard with AWD. I don't know how I feel about that...

All the pros and cons of AWD are certainly open to debate - I have it on both my Audi A8L and my wife's BMW 325 XI wagon (manual w/sports suspension) - but I'm simply delighted with my F-Type V6S in rear wheel drive.

Further, I'm not planning on driving during the winter months and, in the words of my BMW mechanic (a gear head with loads of sports cars in his personal stable), "sports cars = rear-wheel drive".

Your opinions may vary.

Yeah, I hope that's not true. For those who want to really experience a high horsepower rear wheel drive sportscar the current R coupe is as good as it gets.

Interesting, these caught my attention:

- no throttle blipping for manual (bravo, never made sense to blip the throttle if you are a "purist")

- electric steering

- fixed spoiler for coupe!!!! can't to see what this looks like. I don't like the current spoiler but a fixed spoiler might ruin the lines of the coupe.

Where did you hear about the fixed spoiler? I haven't seen anything about that. Doesn't show in any of the pics released so far either.

Haven't seen the pics but this article the OP linked to

Jaguar F-Type spawns manual, AWD versions at 2014 LA motor show | Automotive & Motoring News | Car Magazine Online

says fixed spoiler option towards the end.

But honestly, I think it might be a BS rumour. I just can't see them putting a fixed spoiler on the coupe w/o ruining the looks. Unless it's a RS model that sacrifices some looks for downforce, then the fixed spopiler makes sense.

Thanks. I missed that the first time I read it. I just noticed the optional carbon fiber roof too.

Not sure how I feel about this. If I was a V8S owner I'd be very annoyed.

I love the pano roof, so I didn't get too excited about the CF roof. I'm assuming they are mutually exclusive.

Anyone notice that the interior has been updated slightly? No cover over the cupholders now and the armrest is different.

I have to agree.

This got my attention for my future replacement.

I don't think they have reason to be. Next year's model always has the potential to be "new and improved". At some point you just gotta pull the trigger.

Looking forward to seeing the US pricing and fuel economy figures. Interesting that the automatic apparently gets ~3 (US) mpg more than the manual.

I have to say Jaguar has done an excellent job of creating a cool image for their cars. The goodtobebad series, the web site, ad campaigns and official photographic images are great. Whoever they are using for these campaigns gets a big thumbs up from me.

I really like the new “The Manual” sketch shown here.
