Goodbye V6 S / Hello V8 R!

I have 2 F types, a V6S with 380hp and awd, a V8S with 495hp and RWD, and I have driven a few F type Rs with 550hp and AWD.
Speed, sure the V8s have more acceleration, but the V6S is plenty exciting and has a totally different soundtrack, not better or worse, just different. In fact, the pops and crackles sound better on the V6, the V8 is a little over the top in that regard.
As for the 495hp V8 rwd vs the 550hp v8 awd, from a dig the AWD will launch you faster, but once moving it would be very very close due to the lighter weight and less hp being used to turn 2 more drive wheels.
Point being, if you have a V6S, no need to go to a V8 unless you want more power or prefer the V8 sound.

Once you learn how to utilise the AWD you will discover the R V8 AWD is far more capable than a V6S RWD in twisties, its vastly more stable and planted in high speed sweepers and on tighter corners you can get onto power earlier and it has a load more power to give. I had a brand new V6S RWD for a few days and though it was great fun, ability wise my SVR was just much quicker at covering ground at serious speed, helped mainly due to the AWD. Be interesting to try a V6S AWD though.

So far it is definitely a different soundtrack (in Dynamic mode). Haven’t gone to sport mode yet because I would forget about the 4K rpm limit during break-in. But even in dynamic below 4K it is more responsive - more torque at lower rpm.
I do feel like I have a lot more room with the new (for 2018?) seats. I’m not sure why they dropped the bolsters, I really like them on twisties. Jury still out til I get past breakin and can open it up and make some turns.
The lease was for 33 months, and jag financial (chase) has an early lease return program where the pay up to the last 5 payments if you buy/lease a new jag that is at least 1 model year newer.
One benefit of 33 month lease is you don’t have to register the car the 3rd year.
