Default GPS F-Type

Hi all
I have recently purchased a NZ New 2015 F Type in New Zealand. It was a cancelled order originally destined fir South Africa.
When I try to enter navigation it comes up insert GPS ?
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Welcome to the forums Dave,

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Centre to F-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

You need to buy the NZ GPS data.

Hi, check it out before you do because if it is like the 2016 models in Oz the maps are hopelessly out of date and effectively useless. Also the guidance seems to be on crack so it takes you the longest, most convoluted way, it is like asking your 6 year old kid what happened at school that day - be prepared for a very long and tortured journey. And then there is the process of keying in the destination - it is like cracking a riddle in the Da Vinci Code and takes about as long.

I run google maps on my phone and if I am using spotify, the voice commands come over the system which works much more efficiently that the Jag sat nav ever did. I'll get a mount for the phone and forget the car sat nav altogether.

Is Waze functional in your part of the world? I find that far more useful than anything the Jag Nav could possibly offer.

That's because it wants you to drive the car more!

hahaha, possibly true, but my sat nav wont pick up business addresses either. I tried Waze on the way today and the voice was annoying and I didnt find the directions as good, I might stick to google maps. It's not good when the Nav in my el cheapo Mustang ***** on the Nav in the F Type...

Here in LDS Territory WAZE is terrific with Bluetooth Voice Guidance being clear and concise. She sounds like a Girl Scout Leader.
