3rd of june. We drive from Moncenisio to Menton, through a shear chain of mountain passes...

Part one : Col D' Izoard and Col de Vars ...





Second part : Col de la Bonnette..

 

The 4th of june was a drive along Monaco from Menton, heading West on the highway, all the way to the Pyrenees.. ... nothing to see there..

5th of june. We climb the foothills of the Pyrenees on the French side, very lush, very wet..
We cross paths with a suicidal squirl, a macho truck driver overtaking us on a B-road. and lots of cloud..

6th of june. We crossed back from Spain, into France.

The foothills are very lush and green, due to plenty of rain. We were lucky and were there on a sunny day.

Part one : no thrills, just driving winding roads with stunning views of the surroundings.

I thought I even saw a guardrail or two in this installment!

 

There is no logic behind when/where yes/no they place guardrails. In the French Alps there were not many.
I think maybe the snowploughs take them down otherwise ?

 

Second part from the trip on june 6th. More greens and views, horses and sheep all around.
