Default With great sadness

My F-type S is now almost completely submerged because of non-stop four days pouring rain in Baton Rouge. My neighbor's Vette is completely engulfed. I jacked mine up almost two feet off the garage floor to no avail! The rain falls still and Army copters are hovering all around our city. I'm holding out on the second floor.
It hurts to watch her drown slowly this way forummers.

Unhappy

That is very sad news, both for your car but moreso for the destruction and risk to life. From the other side of the world our news readers are describing it as "epic" with 18 inches of rain having fallen over the weekend. Living somewhere where 1" of rain is an extreme weather event (which causes local flooding) I can't begin to imagine what that much water can do. I hope you, your family and neighbours are are safe, and remain so.

Stay strong! Hopefully your insurance can get you a replacement! I sincerely hope the rain pulls back and you get some relief ASAP.

NTAV. Keep safe. Get out of there the minute authorities get to you. I've been in emergency management for over 25 years and all things can be replaced except you. Take care prayers are with you all.

Having suffered through Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey, I can't begin to tell you how badly I feel for you. We all thought we were as prepared as possible, and to no avail. This hurricane totally devastated us, and I am sad to hear that you all are suffering a "Katrina" all over again. I am deeply saddened by this, and my prayers are with you and everybody else. Life first, health, and the car can always be replaced along with other assets.....first things first.

God Bless!

I guess others have expressed concern over your situation quite well, so all I can say is that I completely agree with them.
Be safe.

We lost everything in Hurricane Sandy except the Jag and Mustang, got them out of town. My GMC 2500, the house and everything we own including photos of our life were lost. My heart goes out for you. Remember possessions can all be replaced, as long as you and the family are safe is all that matters.

A+ sentiment. Family and friends be safe. It's horrifying out there. And our fires are burning all around us on the West.... it reminds me of that story of the guy who recovered the burnt out Jag for restoration. I was thinking of all these natural disasters silently taking out classics parked in spots. Good on ya for getting it up higher. Hopefully it all works out in the end.

I read the account with great pain and sadness having lived in New Orleans for 4 years, ugh. I assume that the entire drivetrain/running gear are hopeless, but I've wondered whether any of the car body parts might be salvagible given the aluminum content.

Sorry for your loss, but glad you're OK personally.

The door's always open if you need a dry place to hang out.

Cheers!

I am truly sorry to learn of your terrible situation. Obviously it's a total loss, so I'm wondering if your auto insurance will step up and compensate you for the lose of your car.
I'm sure they will say, Acts of God aren't covered.

Yes. I'm hoping maybe the Internet is down or the OP is just too busy dealing with this disaster to play on a car forum.
