That said, on the Lambo, the Wortec replacement calipers are very 'thin' and 'long' so the rotor surface/depth itself is quite small (compared to the original carbon rotor). F-Type rotors using factory size calipers/pads can't be that 'thin'.
Just sent me this, a customer who owned a Lambo with ceramics but wanted to convert to steel due to track days, Wortec were able to do him a full conversion with hardly any weight penalty:
So it looks very good for us. Considering our stock steel disc are so damn heavy, the front are 18kg / 38lbs and those who go with the suncuts will probably be under 10kg on the front, practically half the weight.
These are the standard suncut discs that are drilled and slotted. This is probably the way I would like to go. The aggressive suncuts are a little too extreme for me.
I like the standard suncut discs that are drilled and slotted, but it would be good to really understand what the final product would look like for the F-Type.
So I am assuming this is a full conversion, the rotors, pads and calipers will need to be converted?

No this is just changing the disc, your stock pads and calipers are compatible.
That is the whole point of this, throw out the 1PC dustbin style rotors in exchange for some nice 2PC sportier looking rotors that save you a load of weight whilst at it, similar weight savings to ceramics but costing only around $2500 for an entire set of disc.
vettegood, are you in? Looks like the cost will be around £2000 for the set delivered to the USA. Less for the UK and EU. Conversion is $1.38 to the £. F-Type-Type, which disc configuration do you want?
I'm still trying to justify this, but am leaning more towards joining.
My preference has no weight without a commitment, but in order:
slotted only, standard suncut
slotted and drilled, standard suncut
Unless the cooling benefits are substantial, the aggressive suncut look is a little off-putting. It reminds me of something some squid would put on his Ninja.
1. Gibbo205 - Round disc, drilled only - UK
2. Unhingd - Standard Suncut disc, slotted & drilled - 20904
3. F-Type-Type - ??? - Denmark?
4. zmoothg - Round disc, slotted & drilled - 94103
5. IronMike - Drilled in the Slots, Round or Std. Suncut (undecided) - 92627

Feel free to pile on if you are committed.

Did I read correctly that Paul indicated the Suncut are not cast?
I think these are a great option. Had never seen the holes in the slots before this pic was posted, but makes perfect sense for keeping the heat away from the holes, and also helping to keep the holes clear of dust.
The Suncut, even in the standard form, may be a tad too aggressive for my taste.

Anyone wonder what slots will do to porterfield pads? - I've heard sometimes pad wear is greatly accelerated with slotted rotors.
I fitted Porterfield pads with drilled and slotted rotors over six months ago and so far there is very little pad wear. Admittedly I rarely drive it hard with heavy braking (the boys in blue are unforgiving and the speed cameras are everywhere around here) and I'm a light braker 99% of the time (look up COAST).
Perhaps worth inquiring as to price of extra discs 'while you're at it'? You may have more leverage as a group now than individually 3/4 years from now when new discs are needed. Seems to me that a good part of the cost of 2 part rotors is actually the hat, which is certainly a custom part, so that's an investment that only works if its used with multiple discs which you will certainly need down the line.
Of course if y'all were able to standardize on one design, the order becomes x hats and y disks, all the same. Personally, I find fronts wear out way faster than rears, so if *I* was getting spares, they'd be fronts.

Just a $0.02
Yep, that's how it works on most cars, but it appears on modern Jags it is the other way 'round, with the rears wearing out much faster than the fronts.
The main reason is the "anti-dive" built into the braking system which applies the rears earlier and harder than the fronts, and the secondary reason is the way the parking brake operates.
Lots of reports on the XF and XJ forums on this, just a little early yet to report anything conclusive on the F-Type.
Put me in for: Round Disc, drilled and slotted My location is Denmark, Zip 2820.
I am considering to also swap the OEM calipers for the Wortec 8 or 12 piston model in the front but unsure about the rears due to the parking break function. Anyone else considering caliper swap?

I noticed no change in wear rate when I moved to slotted rotors on my MINI. That car only weighs 2600 lbs, but the discs are half the size of the Jag's, so just maybe a valid comparison.

4. zmoothg - Standard Suncut disc, drilled slots- US 94103
5. IronMike - Round or Std. Suncut (undecided), drilled slots - US 92627
6. Chawumba - Round Disc, drilled only (or 2nd choice drilled slots) - US 90803
Given your 1st choice is that of the OP, those will definitely be in the lineup.
7. Vettegood - Round Disc, Drilled Slots - US 85086
8.
Based on the above, it looks like we need to limit this group buy to the following 3 options:
1. Round disc, drilled only (2)
2. Round disc, drilled slots (2 or 3)
3. Standard suncut disc, drilled slots (2 or 3)
Can everyone live with that offering?
I will check on the cost of the replacement discs. I suspect they are a fraction of the cost of the 'hat'.
