Anyone know of a job shop in the Portland OR area, or PNW, to do the rotors and Porterfields? Not a dealer - not a big dealer fan from all the stories on here.

These 2PC brakes should save me another 20kg so at a guess will be around 1690kg.

Just wondering if there is anything else I can or did the SVO team pretty much do what could be done without making this GT into a more out and out track car?
I think you are about as far as you can go on the SVR. On the 2015 R there is some low hanging fruit, besides lighter wheels, removing engine and cargo cover, tow hook and tools, the silly 2nd lead battery for eco start/stop, and replacing any/all parts of the heavy exhaust. And of course, my model 2015 has that 180lb weight savings built in. Hoping unhinged becomes our test enthusiast with lighter 2018 seats, and the ultra light lithium battery.

There is a DIY write up here on the forum on changing pads, while you are performing that, the rotor swap should take about 5 mins a corner. Just an option...

Yep, the 326 and 376 calipers (and caliper brackets and splash shields) are not the same. The 376 calipers are about 2 mm longer than the 326 ones, very nearly the same size but the difference is enough to make them not interchangeable.

Paul@Wortec
1. The suncut edge has alonger/greater surface area so more metal in contact with cool air also the leading edge of each peak creates turbulence which creates a small vacuumto pull air through the rotor.
Our full suncut rotors cool approximately 50% faster than AP rotors and 25%with the low suncut......in hole and slot configuration.

2. the pad goes to the very outer edge of the rotor so as the rotor spins partof the pad is exposed. The clamping force at the edge of the rotor is very low as the pistons are inboard and the pad flexes so cooling is abetter use of that area.

3. I think based on numbers we can cover all options.....but slots only is nota good choice and I would prefer a different design.

4. (Regarding the 326mm rear rotors) Let me check on our casting sizes........3 would be the minimum order as wewill make 5 and hold stock.

5. Hard anodised is a Bronze colour and we add black to give final black finish

6. We can soft anodise (colours) but they will fade and are not as tough asHard anodised

7. It is ok to spec different colours but there maybe some time delays as weneed to do colours in batches and just one set is not cost effective
and may require extra cost.........lets see what everyone's first choice is andwe can do a plan.
1. lizzardo, based on 3. above, do you still want to opt for slots only?
2. RGP, if 2 more people with the High Perf. (326mm rear), join in, you can get in on the group buy.
3. Dremorg, I still need your ZIP.
3. Based on 6. & 7. above, I suggest that we all settle for the black anodized center bells. Please confirm ASAP.

I'd like to get our shopping list to Paul by Wednesday afternoon so that he can give us firm pricing and payment instructions by Friday.

Black Hats for me.
Also, I think I'm in for the Low-Profile Suncut.
I am guessing at this point that the "Low Profile" refers to the height of the suncut feature from peak to valley, and not the overall width of the rotor surface as I originally surmised from some of the pictures posted in this thread.

The clamping force at the edge of the rotor is very low as the pistons are inboard and the pad flexes
I don't think this is true for any setup other than 1 piston calipers. I also doubt this is true for floating caliper, as piston pushes directly only on one pad.

I'll join the Black Hat, Thermal Slot crowd. When you update the list, make mine this:

9. lizzardo - Low Profile Suncut, thermal slots - US 94526 - Black Hats

Decided if I'm going to go with two piece discs I am going to upgrade the rear brakes to the 376mm set up first. Also I want to see how things work out with the new rotors with the pioneers first.

I would bank on around 10 mins per corner, the slowest/peskiest thing is removing the two little rotor retaining washers on each one, sometimes they can be a real PITA to get off.
You don't really need to put them back on again as they are only to temporarily hold the rotor on before you whack the wheel back on, but putting them back on helps to hold the rotor in place while you slide the caliper back over.

Great stuff, more than enough for Paul to start production.
I've told him my deposit is ready for when he needs it and I've also told them they can do a trial fit with my car too as I am only about 100 miles away.

Just a heads up - export orders from the UK to the USA should not be charged UK VAT (20%) that UK residents must pay. Usually, prices in the UK are quoted with the VAT already included, so a deduction may be in order depending. Gibbo205 excepted, so US buyers should get theirs for 20% less than Gibbo205 (before shipping)...
