Default My spacer "horror" story!

Long story short.

I purchased some Ferrada aftermarket wheels and Lenny said the largest spacer I could go with were 12mm.

I was not pleased with the service I received from him (for time sake I won't explain why) and to top it off, the extended thread lugs I purchased from him do not work. I only got about 3/4 of a turn on the stud before the lug was tight. If I hadn't been observant to this, the lugs could have quite possibly loosened while driving.

This VERY simple modification turned out to be a big waste of time and money for me. So, if you have factory wheels, you should be okay. If you have aftermarket wheels, good luck!

sorry to hear about your experience and hopefully it was an albatross partially related to the aftermarket wheels. I've read nothing but positives from the board on Lenny and their work and customer service.

Thanks guys, the group buy is ready to go...I will let Lenny know that we have 8, we are going with 15mm and each person can provide the specifics of their color preference, where to ship, etc...

It is NOT too late to get in on the group buy and save about $60-70 over an individual purchase. Just get your updates on the list below by the time the rest of us call in and pay for our orders.

I will post Lenny's contact info again once I hear back from him confirming we are ready to start calling in.

Ok Hi Everybody,
I have just spoken with Lenny from Motorsport-Tech that is producing our spacers.

This is what Lenny said "he does not care whether anyone individually orders 15mm or 17mm spacers, he says "
he recommends 17mm because of the ease of installing with no stud grinding and that he has done hundreds over 4 years of 17mm and no one has ever come back to him and said they have had any damage to wheel wells, fenders or tires."
He does not care how many 15mm or 17mm are ordered at the same time you can even get 15mm in front and 17mm in rears if you like. Black or silver no difference, his only concern is the number of orders at the time to get the 25% discount for group order, 8 sets is ok for this group buy.

I have placed my order. 17mm all around.

when you order he will take all your info and card # for payment but won't charge until all have ordered.

He will not begin production until all 8 have ordered and given him info.

SO PLEASE CALL AND ORDER ASAP!!

Lenny's phone office- 1-775-351-1000
Cell 1-775-530-4845

i would suggest his office # since he has alot to write down. when answered just push 0 for operator.

if all call and order ASAP we are a week or so away from having a better looking F-type Jaguar.

And THANK YOU
MY Dear Watson for getting this group buy going and keeping it going.

Kind regards to all, Mitchell

Terrific Tork, out of curiosity what mm spacer did you go with?

For Future Forum curiosity.

Tell us what mm sizes you ordered.

Thanks

I went with the 15mm. I was tempted to go with 17mm... i mean it is only 2mm (0.079") thinner, but I may change wheels in the future so it was a safer way to go.
..after reading my statement I called Lenny and changed to 17mm.
2mm is such a small difference, and Burt says his worked fine.
I still have a fender roller I can use if I have troubles

Thanks for passing along that information Mitchell...for anyone that was on the fence and wanted 17mm or 20mm or whatever I guess you can get in on it now and tell Lenny what size you want. I still want to go with the 15mm, but if I knew 100% that I would not have to trim my studs with cyclones that might be enough to get me to do the 17mm. I do not plan to ever go a bigger tire size.

ANYONE out there add 17mm spacers with cyclones???

I just saw this thread, and was wondering if it was too late to join, or if I could just call Lenny to make an order?

Thanks!

crash808 - Its not too late at all, just go ahead and call Lenny and tell him that you are a late addition to the group buy and give him the necessary information for your order. Ideally we will all place our orders by Wednesday if possible.

Read through the thread if you have any other questions, just post them here.

I talked to Lenny this afternoon and I'm all set. I went with 15 knowing I'll probably need to trim the studs, but am not sure when I might actually install these. I'm not as freaked out by the look as some. On some other forums there are folks that defecate twinkies over wheel gap. I've got my own OCD issues, but that's not one of them.

Now, if the factory had not cheaped out with sliding yoke calipers and used 4- or 6-piston Brembos, I'd be a happy man. Seriously. I could get that on a Subaru, from the factory. It's not like JLR doesn't have them in the parts bin.

Coincidentally, the Ferrada wheels are the ones I was considering buying. Really gorgeous and cheap for what hey are.
Please let us know when you get them installed and give your impressions
(sorry about your bad experience)

Yes! Rental is available, but shipping may increase the cost a bunch, depending on where you live.
I may sell it instead, but it is a full kit, in an aluminum case. Let me know if you are interested

BTW- the email address shown at the end of the video is my ex-wife's email (don't use it!)
Mine is dinnison@yahoo.com
