Group discount: Custom Wheel Spacers/Adapters for F-Type @ 25% off
#141
Ok...finally wrapped up this project today. Grinding down 20 hardened bolt heads by .003" and 20 hardened wheel studs by 2.5 mm is one heluva lotta work. The 15 mm spacers certainly do make a difference in appearance, but as said before, accentuate the excessive wheel arch gap above the tires. I'm a lousy photographer, but you might get a hint of what it looks like.
Foosh, thanks for hooking me up with those spacers.

10mm spacers really wouldn't look much different than these 15mm spacers. I'll look in my albums and see if I have any pics of the car post-spacer-add and pre-lowering. I suspect I am the only one that actually installed a set of spacers from this particular group buy.

And the purpose is ... ???
Hi guys,
Can someone please explain the point to add the spacers. Is it for added stability ? It's not like its making your tires any wider for added traction and handling. Don't exactly get the point of doing something like this. It's not like you now have Porsche size 305 tires in the rear.
Thank you

IMO, the wheel faces sit too far inboard and the stance looks better when the faces are out closer to the edge of the fender. And for appearance mods, it's a lot cheaper than any of the other bits that have been discussed.

That being said, mine never made it out of the box and I won't be doing the modifications to adapt these for my car so if anyone is interested in a set, PM me...

Wider track might help handling a bit but basically it's to pull the wheels/tire out even with the fenders so they don't looked sucked in...as they do stock.

Intuitively, doesn't that throw more road grime up on the side of the car?

hmmm you're right, the 15mm looks horrible on stock suspension - 10 or even 5mm would be better
think ill pass
i had my full skirts clear bra'd as soon as i brought the car home as i was hearing stones flick up on normal sealed roads with the extended sills

1) you may need to install longer studs to ensure adequate thread for the nuts. 5 turns is not adequate. A good rule of thumb is that you need exposed thread for at least 1.5 times the diameter of the stud.
2) Since this is a flat spacer without a lip to center the wheel, you might experience some wheel vibration.

(911 is also 1" longer and the same height) For some reason, I thought the F-Type was a much larger car.
