Smile Growler coin

Hey everyone

I was inspired by my new F Type this weekend and cut the growler logo out of a half dollar coin. It's a hobby for me, thought you might like to see it. Not bad for a first attempt.

Cheers!
David

Nice work. A growler front FTYPE reverse challenge coin would be cool as well.

Welcome to the forum as well as our very small number of gear grinders. That medallion is outstanding. Let us know when you plan to take it commercial.

No, it was cut by hand with a jewelers saw and 3/0 and 4/0 blades.

Thanks

The old fashioned skilled way. Makes it more unique. Very talented. How long did it take for you to make?

Thanks! It was about a 45 minute job. Then I ran it through a tumbler with some stainless steel shot for a few hours to finish the surface.

Well, I tried my hand a the leaper as well but not as happy with it. The simple lines of the design actually make it more difficult to translate in the flat medium of the coin. It would be better as a sterling silver casting but that would be more of a long term project.
