Thanks, although I found the review underwhelming. While half the press is objecting that the F-Type is dated, suddenly in 2021, it's finally achieved it's intended mission as a successor to the E-Type. Huh? I never knew that my E-Type had the ride of a touring car - vs the jarring F-Type, until I read the review that says it finally been fixed for MY21. And, the F-Type's distinctive exhaust tones are apparently tiresome - even though they've been the first point of joy in reviews for years. Even on the S, let alone the R. I thought only Consumer Reports had that issue (snark). And, while it is certainly true the the 911 is a superior pure sports car - it's only half the fun (and I have both). Meanwhile, if you want to pick on a car because of limited changes over the years, Jezza was right and the 911 is the gold standard.

So the F-Type is dated, but the 911, at 50 years old, isn't? I suppose ugly never dates ....

I have not experimented with the 21 F-Type, but to the extent I have experience with the earlier editions I have to say the review is accurate. Honestly, the start up roar may appeal to some, but is an annoyance to me.

I don't know what to make of this review as I don't see the '21 as radically different than my '14. Personally I enjoy the noise, recapturing my miss spent youth. We own a Maserati Ghibli S that makes the Jag starup sound like a Cadillac, and we both love it. I don't see this car as dated except maybe next to a Corvette, I get plenty of compliments still after 7 years of ownership. We all know about the infotainment!

Also park next to a $187000 Aston Martin Vantage conv. that performs about the same as an R. Our cars stand the test!

You all have captured the essence of why most reviews or any car need to be ignored. These writers are paid to come up with something to say regardless of how many times they end up reviewing the same or similar cars. Then they never tend to look back at what they or others have said years ago, because they all have to have a “new take” each time. And many of them don’t have the energy to actually think originally about the subject or are to lazy to do proper research and be consistent across the years or the intellectual honesty to admit they had a different view once before. God forbId they actually write something original. That’s why I don’t read them anymore. Writing used to have meaning based on research and experience. Now it’s just get your 500-700 words pulled together and do it quick because it has to be posted before the other guy’s inane ramblings beat you to the punch.........ok I’m cynical......
