Default Happy & Healthy New Year

I am truly not one for social media—or is that the best place to exhibit any sentimentality (which I am experiencing this very moment, and yet so very grateful for so much)—but after a year in which I lost 4 friends (for various reasons), including one of my old NSX buddies who succumbed to a recent illness just this past Friday, as well as 2 clients last year…

I would like to wish all members of this forum a:

Happy & Healthy New Year.

Carpe freakin’ Diem.

P.S. a special shout-out, thanks, and kudos to all the Jaguar Forums mods—especially to SUPERMOD, and my friend, GGG—for keeping us all on the straight and narrow.

Very sorry to read about the loss of your friends. This year was a terrible year, I too have lost a dear friend this past year. A true Jaguar enthusiast, we would race our e types coming back from lime rock park on Rt84. We remember them by telling our stories with a smile, laughter and a bourbon/cigar.
HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ALL

It turns out that 2021 is another year I'll be glad to see the back of, and yet I too am thankful for what I have. Especially that I got to go on a vacation that was on its fourth schedule date and that I'd paid for two years earlier. IIt was more by luck of timing than anything else, but I carpe'd the diems between waves and it actually happened.

I wish a safe and happy New Year to everyone.

Maybe this will be the year I finally get some new wheels.

Hi Frank and thank you.

My condolences on the loss of your friend. I agree wholeheartedly that the best way to honor their memory is to recall all the good times with a laugh, a smile, and, OK, maybe an occasional tear. And if you’re Mbourne and Unhingd, definitely a bourbon and cigar.

Personally, Covid has had zero impact on our lives—thankfully—and we even managed to pull off F-Type events in 2020 and in 2021!

🙏
Jay

Thank you Jay for those kind words. Jay you did some great tours over the years, brought a lot of joy to those who participated and others who followed the tour on this forum. Thank you. I’m excited for next year with plenty of long trips to destinations unknown. I’ll celebrate the new year with a bourbon and cigar on Saturday with remembrances of good friends. I look forward to wonderful driving experiences with my F type and enjoying my friends this new year with great anticipation. All the best in the new year.

Thank you very much Frank. I’ve sworn—for the past 3-4 years and 3-4 events—that that event was my last. (Feel free to call me a liar). Truth is between the smiles, laughter, pleasures, and memories to last a lifetime we have all shared over 7 jammed packed events since my first in 2016—never mind the heartfelt cards and especially letters after each event letting me know what each event has meant to them (some might even bring you to tears; trust me), I really have no choice but to continue to host them. I haven’t even mentioned one or two attendees we’ve lost over the years and what an event has meant to their surviving spouse. That chokes me up anytime I think of it and them.

Besides, jaguny & Co. kinda bamboozled me by leaving two empty spaces on my stunning custom-made and tailored leather jacket gifted to me this past year, leaving me little if no choice in continuing our tradition.

🙏
Jay

Jay all we collectively did was point out the obvious! No bamboozling required.

Happy New Year to all!

The Magical Mystery Tour was indeed a highlight in an otherwise ugly year, as were other side trips to Maine. As always, thanks Jay, and thanks to the Forum and its members for a fun place to hang out, and maybe even learn something in the process.

As I type this, in Michigan with family, my sister is watching wildfires in Boulder miss her home but destroy those of friends. Sometimes it’s easy to forget - we’re all in this together!

Here’s wishing for a better New Year.

Dave

Yes, Virginia, is there a 2022 event already planned…

…stay tuned.

All 2022 attendees—as well as a number of F-Type forum members I have a relationship with—have already received this beautiful Italian-made writing journal made from apple peels (it even smells like apples) as a holiday gift from me and Ron McIntyre.

Great! Now I'm craving an appletini.

Happy New Year to all forum members, including OBE Jay and his merry band of (insane) followers.
