I think it was The Rock on here that installed a kill switch on the negative battery cable. There's a great DIY write up somewhere. Definitely the best alternative if having to do so on occasion.

So the reason I revived this thread was due to the fact that I didn't connect anything to the OBD port; which is why I was going nuts trying to figure out a potential cause.

I'll check with my shop and confirm they hadn't either (didn't think they would by doing alignment work but you never know).

I had something similar in my first year of ownership. The first I knew about it was when InControl called to say the car just told them its battery was flat! The assistance guy came and got it jump started and I took it for a long drive and then put it on an overnight charge when I got home. Obviously the flat battery had cleared whatever was causing the drain and so far, 3 years on, I've had nothing like that happen again, not even after visiting dealers/independents who connected their gear to the OBD port. My independent cleared the fault codes, of which there were many since every module had reported the flat battery! I wonder if that happens when you do a disconnect reset, or if the modules don't have the power to raise a code in time.

I had the triangle lit too and the low battery warning. It turned out to be a parasitic draw from the passenger door handle. After that was replaced under warranty, the hazard light behaved normally, which is to extinguish after 15 minutes.

how long did it take for them to find out that it was just the door handle?

A week, but then 3 or more weeks getting the right part in the right box (left vs right), then finally just stitching the new electronics with the old handle because there were no handles in the US or UK. It was a mess.

Thanks for the response. It is a mess, I have the same hazard light issue and it has been in the shop going on week 7, they’ve replaced the SRS module and apparently that hasn’t solved it and they’re still trying to figure it out. Just being patient with it untill it’s figured out.
