Talking headlight assembly pigtail help

Hi guys.
Not really a F type owner. I am building a Superlite SLC and it turns out that the F type headlight assembly may be a perfect fit. While searching the internet I found a very informative post by racerX regarding converting to LEDs.
So if I can make it work my SLC will have F type headlights, which will be very cool. I already bought both complete headlight assemblies with ballasts, but no pigtails.

A couple of questions for the gallery

1. I am hoping you can help me find some pigtails (so far the only place I I found was pigtails.com but want more than $100 for each side) , ouch!!
2 I am hoping if you can help me sort out the wiring, I have not been able to find the wiring diagram for the headlight assembly, on racers thread there was a diagram of the negative wire and the power to the ballast, but that was it.
3. How much up and down adjustment travel is there for the headlights, I have not figure out the adjustment mechanism yet . I am hoping there is enough flexibility so that if the fit is not perfect I can make it work

I don't want to bother you with my build, but if interested I can tell you more. Is a Superlite SLC with a LS3 crate engine and a Graziano transaxle. AND hopefully jaguar F type headlights LOL. By the way, the F type is one of my favorite designs of all time. Lucky you.

Thanks for your help

This might help you?
When I upgraded my 2014 XJR to the current LED lights I had to build a harness This required or at least made it much better to use the factory plugs. Other than cutting a set off a car in the junk yard we did come up with a place where you could get them.
Here is the VERY long thread where we hashed out the details over on the XJ forum.
LED Headlight Update

If you don't want to read the whole thing here is the short version;

Connector kits (available from various LR specialists, or online from Simtek http://www.simtekuk.co.uk):
CON-266 is the 16 way car-side connector with 12 wires connected
CON-144 is the same connector with 16 pins and grommets for self-termination
CON-466 is the 16 way headlamp-side connector as a kit with 16 pins and grommets.

Take a look and see if it helps?

Thank you very much, yes I much rather do that than spend over 200 for a generic pig tail. I appreciate your help .

Glad it helped and they are still expensive in my opinion for what you get but they are the right parts.

Yes would like to see pictures of your work. I am a kit car fan and tried to do one years ago. But they just very crude back then with a VW floor pan. Nothing like what's available today.
Some mighty neat kits out there.

I got the headlights and the pigtails, now I have to map out which wires control what . so far I found a ground pin and a pin to turn on the headlights, not sure if high or low beam . I tried connecting the ground wire and then trying all the pins to 12 volts but only one seems to work . Any idea where I can find a pin diagram of the pigtail that connects to the headlight assembly? thank you very much .

Do you have the service manual? The wiring diagrams are in the back and you really need to have a copy anyway!
OzXFR has kept this alive for a long time and we need to thank him for that!
F-Type Service Manual

Please spend the time and get your own copy. This is for the F-Type V-6 2015 but the F-Type has not changed much in the different years.
It is big at 481 GB! But the best part is it's FREE!

Oops! Sorry I was in error about the file size. But it's been a great resource and I have recommended this download dozens of times since OzXFR uploaded it.
Thanks again!

Thank you guys .

My son helped me figure out the pins on the connector , so I could map all the wires according to the wiring diagram provided by you guys THANK YOU .

I connected the turn signals and dimming lights to the turn signal lever. the headlights and hi beams work perfectly with the 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue steering wheel controls that came with the kit . I am also using the ISIS wiring system ,

I did buy a cheap broken headlight unit that I took apart and figured out how everything works, as it turns out the assembly has a huge amount of adjustment range which will be helpful , as the assembly sits quite differently on the SLC body .

It is easy to manually adjust the beam side to side and up and down using the Allen key.

I will definitely post some pictures and videos of the final product . here are some updates :

pigtail wires identified and labeled

huge adjustment range will come in handy
