Awesome. I have heard Americans talk about clay bars before but I don't think we have similar here, what is it?

Yes, we do have it here. It's literally what it sounds like - a small bar of very pure, fine grained clay that you use to remove all the fine imperfections off your paint before applying a wax or polish. You lightly rub the car with it after washing it, just like a little sponge (applying water or a surface lubricant first). Always done by top line detailers, but you can do it yourself (if you have time).

A lot of auto shops will carry it. Or you can order it online.

Thanks yes just googled it, look like Supercheapato has a couple of versions of it and saw a video.
You would want to be bloody careful you didnt trap a little bit of grit in the clay and then rub it around the paintwork

You can use a water/soap mix but for best shine I use a lubricant suck as Griot's Garage Speed Shine. Took about 20 oz of that and about 2 oz piece of clay to do my car. I did about a 2 feet x 2 feet section of the car at a time. Then fold and knead clay and make sure it is free of debris. Took about 1 hour for the clay bar portion. The Speed Shine is also good for getting rid of fresh bird droppings and tree sap.

Also used 303 Products Convertible Fabric Top Cleaning and Care Kit for the ragtop. Made it super black and shiny.

You certainly do. Helps to fold the clay over regularly. Eventually you chuck it out though, and move on with a new piece.

Nice colour, you're causing me to rethink my build. (i've been umming and arring for two months now) currently on hold because i want to see how the AWD versions perform.

Yep everyone comments on the colour. I love it only reason to choose another is if you want to attract less attention which can be a good thing
