Nice! Pictures please. Welcome and I'd tell you to enjoy the car but that would be ridiculous as I already know the answer.

Congrats!!! I just bought mine a month ago. I traded a 2007 F430 coupe for it. No regrets.

I remember the feeling about 4 months ago getting my R. It has not been switched from dynamic mode even in the rain. You will love this car so much!!! I still find myself taking it out for drives just to feel the power and drive the car hard.

You will find out the car gets allot of attention and for some reason people always want to race. Makes driving everyday fun again for sure!

I love the f430 as well. I would love to hear your opinions since you have owned both. How are they compared to speed? What pulled you to do this trade? What did you love and hate about 430?

Congratulations. Little beast is pretty good description having owned mine for all of 2 days now. I am sure you will be giving the complimentary rides to friends and family for about a year. Haven't had any not want to take a spin. Happy motoring.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone.

To get here, I traded in my 2012 Maserati Gran Turismo Convertible which I bought used a little over a month ago. Great car and wanted to keep it but to make a long story short, the dealer lied about its Carfax history to me when I bought it (it was in a big wreck a couple years ago), and although I wanted to take them to court, I just wanted to get rid of it and move on. (Besides, I did not want to sit on a car that was losing tons of value everyday due to the negative history).

Before getting the Jag, I also cross-shopped a used 2011 Ferrari California. I always dreamed of driving a Ferrari. In the end, I dropped the Ferrari due to the high purchasing cost, high cost of insurance, high cost of maintenance, and the fact that it came with no warranty. Either car would have to be my daily driver, and living in Chicago with the weather and poor roads, I didn't think the Ferrari would hold up to everyday driving. Anyways, I think I made the right choice. The F-Type is just an incredible car inside and out!

Once you get addicted to the pops and bangs it will never come out of sport mode, lol.

The F430 is a fun car to own but very expensive to maintain. Parts are not cheap nor are they readily accessible. I enjoyed my two years with the car and it's quick, fast, and handles very well. Unfortunately my part of Florida doesn't support owning a Ferrari as much as it does MB, BMW, Porsche, or Jaguar. The closest Ferrari dealer to me is either Atlanta or Orlando. There is an independent shop in Panama City and he is very good but the downtime due to his busy schedule leaves you without the car longer.

The love/hate part is one and the same. I liked the exclusivity of having the car and the attention it got but the attention was also a negative as dealing with drivers hanging their cellphones out the window capturing pics and video had me worried they would crash into me or someone else.

The F Type R seems to be quicker off the line and handles like a cat on carpet.

Hi All,
I didn't want to start a new thread but as of Friday I also have a F Type R. Don't pick it up until April 12th as Im on a short vacation but I'll be scouring the forums for advice!
One early question from me, do you recommend a specific all weather car cover? My neighbour has cats and they love sitting on top of my cars with their claws making lovely additions to the paintwork!
Cheers
Neil

A high powered rifle usually works in this situation. Be sure to use a scope so you hit the right kitty.

Ferrari's are never sensible choice. My friends and family that have had them says they have to be 3rd or 4th car and maybe 1000 miles a year if they start out with low mileage. Most sell and buy often enough to avoid major services!Alternative is to get a normal mileage one and drive it and find a good independent shop to work with, all must have detailed service history!
