Default HighFlow Cats / MidPipe V6/V8

I'm working on weld fixtures for my 4.2 Cat and Mid-pipe setup. I'm going to go ahead and build them for the 5.0L XKR and F-types while I'm at it. I was curious if anyone has any take offs I can gather dimensions from for the build.

There are some variations in the mid-pipe part# with and w/o active but I have not glanced at them yet. I'll be making setups for both if they are that much different.

If anyone happens to have removed a set or is interested and not too far away , contact me.

Thanks,

Derek Fricke

Quick update.
Fixture for the 4.2 is complete. Working on finalizing finish. My thoughts are to coat in ceramic to help retain heat in the exhaust and increase flow. More than likely a ceramic chrome finish. I have spoke with a vendor that can match a British Racing green though.
I'll be moving forward with mid-pipe, then 5.0L highflow cats for the XKR and F-type V6/V8.

Regards,
Derek Fricke

looks fantastic, however the flange on the F-Type is funny. my exhaust guy had the entire exhaust of and did not want to make me any cats for the F-Type. He made me some for my XKR-S. I am interested if you are successful.

I'll have to take a look at the flange once I get a factory set on hand. The sooner I can locate a set, the sooner I can make some to test. Anyone close enough or want to ship a set so that I can scan for data and ship back? Whatever the final product is, I can cut a 50% deal for aiding in prototyping.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll keep pushing to get many of these designs wrapped in the next month.

Regards,
Derek Fricke

I did my part last year by totalling out an F-type v8s. Should have been sold for pennies on the dollar at auction. Would have been a great test car for you. Could barely tell it was in an accident. Deer are the new white meat.

Seriously though you are just too far away to offer up my replacement V8s as a tester. I hope someone near you does soon though, the work looks top notch. I am happy to see the progress and hope to be able to buy parts once they are in production. Don't give up!

4.2 XKR Cat fixture near completion. Waiting on a few clamps to come in.

I am having some plate cut for the F-Type cats, I have a set on hand that I bit the bullet and bought. I'll be constructed these with the same process. All cats will be ceramic coated chrome as this will aid in its prevention of heat transfer.

I have some material coming in the build the XKR setup to be coated and finsihed. I'll have the F-types complete shortly as well. The first F-type setup will fit K16260 to K22184 models.

I guess I'm out of luck on K08443. What's the difference?

I'm not sure of any difference. As I'm checking now, these I have on hand were for a K08960, so the Jag part list I have may be inaccurate.
States fits: 2015 V6 , 2015 V6S, and 2014 V8S

Per the vin these were spec'd for, its a 2014 V6

Part number is :
T2R16567 and T2R16566 for left and right cat.

These may in fact fit all V6-V8. I think the piping on the setups are the same, just different cat cells.

Derek Fricke

We should be good on yours then. Sometimes small Rev changes are made such as hanger clamp, grommet hanger etc. that results in a part number change. Per what the units I have on hand and the VIN, the fixture I'm building first is off a 2014 V6, however per part number, the Jag tech said they fit the models above.
I'm really excited to get these finished for you guys.

Regards,
Derek Fricke

Take part numbers with a grain of salt... something as minor as a metal composition change or a different welding style would result in a different part number.

Update guys. F-type Highflow Cat fixture nearing completion. The 4.2 Cat system will be tig welded tomorrow then sent out for coating.

I'm awaiting a few catalyst to come in for the F-type setup. I'll have more pics soon.

Pete,
I have everything cut and ready to weld. I'm searching for the tooling for to flare the end to the manifold collector. I have some flared ends 45 deg, but they are not a perfect fit-up. I'm checking with a few shops today to see if they have the proper flare tooling. Seems to be closer to 70 deg flare.

I'll message you my cell so we can discuss more if you like.

I'll have them test fitted and welded up shortly. Tacked everything together. All will be tig welded and optional coated. All stainless construction. I'll do some weight comparisons as I noticed they were quite lighter.

I will have 2 Cat options: one with Race spec 200-cell and one Race spec 300-cell that EPA certified in 49-states and no cell light.

I will start on fabricating the F-Type V6 and V8 setups shortly. They will have the same options for Cats.

4.2 XK / XKR setups are finalized. F-Types are coming up once I toss more money into building them.

They bolted up quite nicely. I'm going to finish up the welds so they are nice and pretty inside and out. During the Tig process we purge the inside of the tube properly so that they weld gets nice penetration and the finish on the interior side of the piping is smooth as well.

Stock converters for XK and XKR both weigh in at 10lbs each, 20lbs total.

These weigh in at 5lbs each, for a total saving of 10 lbs. (Every little bit counts )

I'll do some db reading before and after shortly for the 200 cell. There are some sound clips of a 2008 XKR with the 3" setup I build last winter with the same 200 cell converters on youtube.

F-Type Cats are underway! I'm looking for some people to run the first prototype shortly. I will have a 200 Cell and 300-cell cali certified setup available shortly. If anyone is interested please contact me as I will strongly discount the first few sets to get some units out there. Below is the finished XK series units.
I can ceramic coat these in a few possible options, I am verifying which finishes I would like to offer and cost associated with them.

Please take a look at the Carbon engine cover and panels thread as well as everyone's input is greatly appreciated prior to mold-release.

All forum members will receive a discount one each part released. I will have a few more parts released in the next two weeks.
