Default How close was your order / delivery date timeframe?

I ordered July 30 and just got an email from my sales consultant that the car is to be "built" October 20 and estimated delivery date November 27 leaving me nearly 4 months to wait.... Did you guys experience the same wait time and if not did the dealership deliver earlier then estimated date?

The delivery date will change once it gets closer to production. Mine came in 3 weeks earlier than the original delivery date, but arrived exactly on the revised delivery date.

Your dates sound about right though. Mine was built on 6/11 and scheduled to be delivered on 8/11. Delivery was later revised to 7/24 which is when I picked it up. So roughly 5 weeks from 10/20 puts you in late November. Unlikely that your build date will change given the backlog that Jaguar currently has.

Same experience here - they beat the date by almost three weeks. I ordered my car right after July 4th last year and was told it would be here early November. Come mid-October, I was picking it up and driving it home. Better to underpromise and overdeliver than the converse.

I ordered on the 9th of June. The build date is the 10th September. So I might be driving home in it on the 13th...

A decade ago I ordered a Mini Cooper S in October. I took delivery the following March.

Try to think happy thoughts...

Had something similar happen before I ordered the F-Type.

I ordered a 2013 Viper GTS in November 2012 when ordering opened. Was initially told February for delivery then later March then nothing. Canceled the order in late June and ordered the F-Type a couple of weeks later.

Pretty close to mine too,I bet yours is early by about 2-3 weeks since my SM said that appears to be the case.

My order and deposit were taken on 6/16 and it looks like the order was imputed and created on 6/26,current build date is 9/17 and current planned delivery date is 11/7 but I bet I see it closer to the middle of October, give or take a few days.

Well,I certainly hope mine comes in early. I can't remember the last time I ordered a car. I have mostly found one and drove it home. Thanks.

You would have thought living in the same country the car is built would be beneficial and like most of you guys across the pond i/we would get them early, yea right lol.

Ordered my Coupe R as soon as the order books opened in feb and was told cust cars were due beginning of may, a few weeks later i was then told by my dealer that because i was 5th on the list and the factory was only letting the dealers have 1 car a month, mine was now due in august!!
As you can imagine i wasnt happy, the factory then turned round and said they were going to let the dealers have 4 cars every month so mine then moved to the end of may.
I had a build date 21st may and a delivery date a week later, i'd organised a long weekend away in europe which was due 22nd june, well i think you probably know whats coming lol.
My car was actually finished early on the 18th may, i know this because i have a friend who works for jag at the factory, i was then promised date after date until i eventually got my car a day before we were due to go abroad.
So as you can imagine i wasnt happy and as for the car when i went to pick it up and the ongoing problems thats another story lol but i do love it.

My car was delivered to the dealership 8 days before its stated build date. This appears to have come as a surprise to the dealership.

Went and looked at it yesterday while signing all the paperwork. Collection is tomorrow.

Blur's "Song 2" played at high volume comes to mind...
