Default How do you update the nav maps on a 2015?

Looking to upgrade the maps, do the 2015 have the InControl app?
From what I read you need a usb stick loaded with the map, is this correct?

You can buy/download the map update to a 32GB USB. You'll also get an activation code tied to your VIN. Also, on the older systems, the instructions say it will take about 2 hours to load the update. They are correct about that. Best done when you're taking a road trip where you already know the route (or at least the first 2 hour's worth).

Jaguar charges $199. As I recall, I got the update from a connection of one of the moderators for $102, but that was a few years ago, so I'm not sure if that's still a viable option. Note that the maps are released yearly, but that doesn't mean that there are significant changes every year for every area.

No personal experience (Linux user) but I've heard that the download won't actually fit on a 32GB stick, so 64GB formatted as FAT should be used.

Well, I am not paying $200 for a map that is 3 years plus out of date, from Here.Navigation.com - The 2020 update is the final update release for this navigation system

Yes it seems the system is dead and obsolete so very fast!
2020 is the last one I installed and then there were no more updates.

Just curious, does the same nav update apply to all years through 2024 or are there different updates that apply to each generation of navigation/audio systems?

There are different systems for different years. I am still able to download maps for my 2018 to a USB and install them. I believe my current subscription is good until some time in 2025. The maps are still being updated.

I purchased and loaded the final map update for my 2015 F-Type R (non-incontrol). Jaguar sent me a letter about the final maps update (North America 2020) and a special discount. It took a long while to receive since Jaguar messed up on shipping my order. The update came via a USB stick and install took around an hour or so. I performed the update will doing a drive with the car club. Part # D30YC20-E0020-2661.

Odd they would "expire". Poor planning if they can't keep a maps database updated.

It is not odd at all, why would they keep updating a low volume system. It is not cost effective for them, manufactures subsidize the map makers and when they stop, they stop updating.
Found this out when I had a DB9 and the dealer told me why I could not get an update for my car. I was on a new highway and the nav system showed me going through a forest.
