My center locking mechanism is making awful noise (See: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...3/#post2577929)
I would like to disassemble center console to see if I can lubricate or otherwise fix locking mechanisms (replace if must). Does anyone have any experience or docs as to best place to start for this?
Appreciated.

Mine did that exact thing, too - I shut the door with something stuck in the latch, I think, and it burned through the plastic gearing.
You have to remove the trim around the head hoops, and the panel that goes behind the shoulders of both seats, along the side and top panels of the center console tunnel before you can get to that part. A full teardown of everything behind the gearshift knob, basically.

Yeah.. did all that. Biggest problem is speaker grills. So flipping hard to get out. I don't get it. both have one latch that holding in place. This is not a simple just-use-a-trim-puller job. I understand from pics about the 3 retainer groove on bottom and outside edge. A lot to remove for a little actuator.
Did you fix yours yourself?
I have some pics and vid @ https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...3/#post2578933
