How much better is the Aston Vantage from our F-types?

Corvette people tend to be very loyal. It's a great car. I've had five of them. The C6 is the last one I consider to be beautiful. The C7 styling got to be too busy.
The C8 is an incredible product, terrific acceleration and handling but it looks like it was styled by a committee. Everyone had some suggestions and - in keeping with today's mentality to not disappoint anyone - all the ideas were included.
Pictures of the new Maserati MC20 show that is possible to design a beautiful mid engine car.
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the rear view of the F-Type and the C8. I make it a point to never criticize another guy's ride (or wife) - but ....

My friend got a black on black 2021 Vette, and in all black it hides the black plastic pieces all over the car like the rear vents, the trim on the side scoops and pieces of the front. After owning the car for 2 months, someone offered him $25000 over what he had paid, so he sold it, and now has to "slum" around in his 1974 Pantera. (His is the one on the right, my '72 on the left).

I owned two Vettes including a very nice 1970 that I sold to help pay for my 2020 F-Type. I wound up with the F-Type because I did not want to wait 18 months for a new C8. I’m happy with my choice, it was my destiny but I might wind up with the C8 still. The rear is not great but the rest of the car looks good. It’s a different animal vs our cars. F-Type has soul.

That is exactly right; it is precisely the way I describe the intangible difference between a Jaguar and its rivals, any Jaguar. In fact some years ago I sold a very special Jaguar after a difficult negotiation because the prospective buyer described the car as "having a soul"; that did it. I finally saw that he understood. That car is now in a collection in Beijing.
