A tale of warranty experience...

I bought my current car (not a Jaguar) when it was just about a year old. It wasn’t a CPO car, it was still under the original warranty which included routine service like oil and filter changes etc.

It had a terrible wind leak, so the next time I took it in to the dealer for an oil change, I asked them to fix it, figuring that it might just be a matter of setting the limit of how far the windows went up. The dealership somewhat rudely told me that that was an adjustment and adjustments weren’t covered. I argued the point and they became more rude. After all that, they adjusted it anyway and didn’t charge me. Unfortunately, it didn’t completely correct the problem.

Thanks to the bad treatment, I switched from the dealer that was near home to a dealer that was near work. At the next service at the new dealership, I asked if the wind leak could be corrected. The service person found a service bulletin and replaced all the seals. No fuss, no muss, no charge.

That experience, along with this discussion makes me wonder why warranty service is so dealer dependent. Shouldn’t be this hard.

I found a second example of a Jag dealer forging 7Y CPO paperwork without funding it, same as they did to me. In this case they had the nerve to try to force the customer to fund the 7Y CPO warranty they counterfeited.

So in the experience linked below, the phony Jag dealer CPO was actually worth negative $2500. OP beware of this dealer scam.

I've had 2 CPO cars a Merc and an Audi and both worth worth it. They matched full factory for an extra year on the Merc and 2 on the Audi. It all comes down to what you pay for it. I think the consensus is most average the dealer about $ 1800 an these type of cars and come with the inspection sheet , but who knows if they really do it. So if you can get it as a at cost add on why not. By the way a 2 year extended from a non Jag warranty co. is at least $3600 and not as good.
