Default How much did you pay for your Jaguar F-Type R?

As some of you may know, I am actively looking for a F-Type R and I was curious as to what the prices people are paying or paid. I tried to search for recent iterations of this type of thread but couldn't find anything up to date. It may be good to have a consistent format so it's all relative, something like:

Year and Month purchased:
Model year of F-Type R:
List Price ($):
Purchase price ($):
Where it was purchased:
Used or New:
Miles if used:
Private sale/dealership:
Any other options, packages, or variables that impacted the price:

Purchased two weeks ago.
2017 R, 39,000 miles, with CPO through July 2022, loaded ($117K new), diamond cut/carbon fiber wheels, brand new tires, new pads and rotors, excellent service history, $50,000
Found on CarGurus. Purchased from individual in PA and shipped to KS. It was my perfect F type. I searched for over a year. This one had everything I wanted and then some. I consider myself extremely fortunate.

I purchased in November from a dealer in Chicago. Its a 2016 R with under 12,000 miles and paid $52. This was of course purchase price before the lovely taxes and I did buy an extended warranty for another $2,500. This is always a difficult type thread as the condition of these cars will vary heavily. I found some R's at dealers that were just beat and although they tried to clean them up my philosophy is you can only polish a turd so much.

Year and Month purchased: Dec 2020
Model year of F-Type R: 2015
List Price ($): 51000
Purchase price ($): 51000
Where it was purchased: NYC
Used or New: Used
Miles if used: 7700
Private sale/dealership: Broker/used car dealer(I worked for them)
Any other options, packages, or variables that impacted the price: Other than interest on the loan, no

Interesting note: after sorting through things left in the car by the previous owner, I found a 5 year tire/rim insurance contract that expires a few days after my purchase date, but already expired when I found it. Could've been an easy 2k value if I claimed 2 tires and 4 wheels refinish. Instead, I had to pay out of pocket for a set of new tires since the ones on the car were original and were already rotting due to age and lack of mileage.

I wouldn’t sweat it. I see this as similar to asking “what’s your income” and trusting all of the participants to respond with 100% honesty.

BTW, my income is $40 millions a year

Just remember, there will always be someone who paid more or less (relative to the car/model/equip etc). I looked for a long time and, and like most purchases, I like to be the outlier (the guy who got the crazy good deal). At a minimum, I try to purchase at a price that I wont have buyers remorse when I look at other cars listed and sold later - which I always do. Also, I can show you the bill of sale if there is question about the validity (and I checked it and realized I actually paid less than I stated); however, I will not be providing a W-2 to prove income; would be embarrassing compared to most forum members. Also, for those you in the $40 mil annually category, why are you even driving at all? I would have a wraith with a driver.

As long as you enjoy the car, you are fine. It is not good to compare yourself to others as maybe theyre in a cheaper market etc or maybe the car was not in great shape or something.

I made this thread because I just wanted additional data before going into the purchase. I am not going to try and "beat" anyone here. I will probably over pay to get a BRG one honestly. They seem to sell for a premium compared to other colors.

That's a great point and I think your approach is correct; I was just making light of the previous comment. Again, I always love a great deal and I found exactly what I wanted and was kind of trying to get it an even better price and then I took a bike ride and thought about it and realized that if I was being honest, I would pay more considering the color/equip. I actually stopped during my ride and contacted the seller and send a paypal deposit before heading home. Haven't looked back and love the car even more now. It's all about the value, not the price - if it's worth it to you, then its a deal.

I knew that one-night stand with tan mom would come back and haunt me years later.

Congrats! I was looking at this one pretty extensively. Is it Glacier or Polar? It looked sort of Glacier in the photos.
