how to remove hoop cover without breaking pin.

I just replaced my chrome colored hoops with the gloss black hoops and it was relatively easy. The trick is getting the roll protection hoops off the car. There are two hidden taps one in front and one in back of each side that must be pushed in to get them to release so the roll bar can be taken off the car. Once that is done I found that by using a plastic pry tool and starting at the bottom and then pulling up toward the top of the hoop on both sides alternating it will come off. It takes a bit of force but I was able to take off both hoops without breaking a single tab. There is a video out that explains one method but it looks like he used a screwdriver and did some minor damage but the video will give some insight on the whole process. Good Luck

Yes that is correct. You do need to take the speaker covers off to reach the bolts that hold in the roll bar. When I took off the hoop rings it took a bit of force but none of the tabs broke on either side. The key was to use the plastic trim removal tool( NOT a screwdriver as it will leave marker as it did in the video) You know another option would be to have the hook covers wrapped in gloss black vinyl or what ever other color you like. No worries about broken tabs and completely reversible.
