Default How to remove tire scuff from paint?

Hi everyone

I was hit door to door on the highway last week and unfortunately the SOB who hit me took off - hit and run. Not a great deal of damage - a few small dents and scratches but the most noticeable is a large tire scuff. I have tried to buff it off with WD-40 and it is lighter now but still very visible. Any suggestions on products to use to get this out of the clear coat?

Thanks
David

After a track day I use "cleaner" car wax to remove rubber marks from the paint....your situation may be tougher to remove, but give it a try.

I've used Goof Off to get stuff off the car. Didn't hurt the clearcoat.

+2 and wax immediately after as Buckingham suggests. Also fantastic at removing tar spots which seem to land just about everyone on these cars.
