Hello everyone!
I own a 2016 F Type R convertible that needs a couple of panels replaced on the dashboard due to damaged leather (specifically #25 and #12 in this parts diagram). Has anyone ever replaced these parts? How hard is it to get these removed? Thank you in advance for your help!
#12 is the center AC vent assembly. Instructions for removal are elsewhere on this site, and once you remove it you can access the screws that hold the leather in place.
You need the right extension for the 4 torxs around the speaker, they can't be too long due to the windshield, and can't be too short due to how deep they are down there.
Once you take out all the torxs and disconnected the motor connector, you can go ahead and start removing the unit, I had a hard time with the hinge cover, ended up just keep lifting the unit up and it eventually popped up the hinge cover.
