I keep forgetting to lock the doors...

My last 2 Corvettes, with key fob in my pockets, I walk away from vehicle 15 - 20 feet, it auto locks.
On this F-type, I forget to turn around & touch the handle to lock it over half the time.
Most times, I come back to car with door handle in the open position.
I must be gettin' too old...

The only autolock I know of is if you unlock the car but fail to open the door within some time frame (a minute ?) the doors re-lock.
Sometimes it just takes a while to update that muscle memory ;-) The gear selector took a while to get the hang of compared to my previous simple auto transmission handle in my Audi....
I recently got to the office desk and realized I too had left the car unlocked. On the fifth floor of the parking garage. Jaguar Remote to the rescue. Locked the car wirelessly.

I don't know of a way for the vehicle to lock automatically. I see it as a potential problem if you have a passenger and parked and left the vehicle with the key in your purse/pocket. Vehicle would lock with the passenger inside!
Why don't you use the Jag Remote App. This way you can lock the vehicle remotely from a distance when you realize you didn't lock it - or simply to check whether you locked it.!

Hi stmcknig,
You are correct about when it auto locks.
I unlocked the doors and watched it, the handles moved out and the tail lights turned on.
That was exciting !

- At the 30 second point the tail lights turned off.
- 10 seconds later, i.e. at the 40 second point, the doors automatically locked.
That was exciting !

Never ever had a problem with autolock.
If vehicle autolock with passenger inside, I would freak out, then call 911, they would call Police to come to the car & yell to the Idiot inside: "Hey Dummy! hit the Unlock button to get out!!!"

Hello, what you are referring to is Passive door locking. I have been told by Jaguar that my 2014 f-type does not have that ability that includes any f type that does not have the built-in factory jaguar app system I think maybe 2017 and newer, then they have remote start and locking feature and much more, I would give my left N-- for.
The best way I can explain it is if you have the passive lock engaged and you have the remote in your pocket or in hand when you walk up the doors they automatically unlock. And when you walk away they automatically lock. No pushing of buttons. if the remote signal is detected the locks will not engage, if the signal is NOT detected the locks will engage, That Is passive locking.
Happy Motoring...

When I purchased my new Z06 in 2016, the dealer had it set up with the passive lock system turned on. It became an instant PIA, for me. I parked this car in my garage, but never left the keys in the car...always brought the keys inside my house. If I was in the garage doing whatever and wanted to open the car, the door was always locked and I had to go inside the house to get the key fob. Too cumbersome, passive locks don’t work well for me, I just turn them off.

"Hope you figure out a solution to your issue."
One solution today: my wife remembered to lock it both times, as we went to lunch, as her Mercedes handles also needs to be touched to lock (have to pay extra for that Key-Less Go option). But that's another issue, since she won't with me to the gentlemen's club...
