SoCalJagS,
Congratulations on your purchase. The Vantage, to me, is far and away the most beautiful Aston. Its proportions are better and it doesn't have the "beached whale" look of its bigger siblings. Use it in good health and enjoy!

I read years ago "A gentleman buys an Aston Martin and he has acquired a car he can keep through his entire life." And the factory will support him for his entire lifetime (wonder if that's true today?)
I love my F-Tyoe and hope we have a nice long relationship, but I don't think the love goes as deep as Aston Martin ownership would. Best of both worlds would be to have one of each, but then I'd be polygamous. Bad enough the wife refers to my car as "Mike's Mistress"

Was worried we were never going to see pictures!

Beautiful. Is it Alloro Green? Love the yellow highlights.

It's probably more likely the other way around.

Yes and near impossible to find without the yellow paint graphics. Black leather interior with yellow stitching. So nice everything is covered in leather, even the ashtray (coin holder) is lined in leather.

She doesn't have the pops and bangs like the Jag, but she really screams around 4000 rpm and up. A buddy told me he could hear it 4 blocks away when the exhaust opens up.

I do believe there's a fuse you can pull to leave that exhaust valve open. Beautiful car and possibly my next after the Jag.

Thank you. It does have the sports exhaust and a sport button with opens the exhaust valve. I think this does the same job as removing the fuse. But one of these days I will experiment to see.

First, SoCal, I love your car. Congrats. I thought you ordered your car to your specs, and I see that you bought the GT without the racing stripes or lipstick. Or did you find one equipped that way? I wavered between the different options, but at the price point, it wasn't going to work in my case anyway, not a new one.

I'm the guy who test drove the 2007 Vantage V8 with 6-speed manual which was very tempting. But I found the car to be a lot of work to drive and it fatigued me among other issues I had with that car that day. It would be even more difficult in city rush-hour driving. I was not exactly excited about the manual and the clutch action on that car; it was heavy. So I called it a "young man's" car. I'm older now, although I do enjoy driving a manual. My question is: Is the manual+clutch on your 2016 car the same as 2007 model that I drove, or has it been changed/upgraded?

From what I have read, there have been a lot of changes from 2007 till today. 2007 was a 4.3L changed to 4.7L in 2008. The clutch is much lighter, along with more precise steering and suspension. I don't find the clutch heavy at all, but it is not light either. I can't compare to F type manual have not driven one yet, I need too. I wouldn't commute in it, it is a garage queen for weekends etc. Orders have been closed for quite awhile now, no new orders until the next generation 2018 model is released with the Mercedes AMG 4.2 bi turbo. It was difficult to find the green without the yellow lipstick, for some reason virtually every dealer ordered car has the yellow graphics. I don't know why because they like to play it safe with mostly white, silver or black cars anyway.
